t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out.
There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see.
But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out.
Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over.

[ He laughs sheepishly, and even as his breath fogs up, he presses the blanket into Riku's hands. ]
And to be honest, right before I got here, I was stationed somewhere pretty cold. So I'm probably a little more used to the cold. I'll be okay, at least for a bit, so you should definitely use it for now!

[Ahhh, it's difficult to say no when faced with such kind words... and the blanket being pushed his way.]
Um, as long as you're sure, then I'll take it for now! Thank you. But tell me if you get cold, okay? We can even share it, if you want!
[Now he's the one laughing sheepishly, brandishing it before draping it over his shoulders.]
Since you're a medic, you can probably tell that I have a respiratory condition... It's kind of hard to hide in weather like this.

Respiratory condition ... oh, like asthma? [ That took him a good second or two to make the mental connection. ] Sorry, I gotta admit I, um, I've never treated anyone with it. Or, actually, met anyone with it either, now that I think about it. So I didn't immediately recognize it. Um.
[ He has zero training for dealing with these sorts of conditions, and he thinks quietly for a moment. Surely, there must still be something that can help. ]
Did you end up here without your, uh, inhaler? [ That's what it's called, right? ]
no subject
[He doesn't say it with a trace of sadness, since it's a fact that he's more than used to. Really, Riku is pretty self-sufficient, especially since he's not a child anymore and more or less knows how to avoid having attacks.]
I have my inhaler on me, thankfully! [Which he then pulls out of a pocket and holds out for Jion to see.] But it doesn't work right when it gets this cold, so I have to be careful. Even if this one should last me a while, I use it more when it's cold, so I hope we can find a way back soon.

Oh, um. If the inhaler doesn't work because of the cold, try holding it under your armpit? It's one of the warmer parts of the body, so that might help getting it working.
[ It's not hugely helpful, but maybe it's better than nothing? ]
Geez, what a place to end up in though, huh? I thought the cold back in town was bad enough, but I really hope we get out of here soon.

[Still, he offers another sheepish smile and tries taking a puff from his inhaler... As expected, it doesn't work terribly well due to the cold, but it's enough to get him through this conversation.]
Yeah... It's hard to believe we ended up here out of nowhere. I mean, even though we're all used to weird things happening, this is new. If it's like the other times, it'll be over in a few days, but... I don't know if we can last that long.
[That's no way to think, though, and immediately after saying it, Riku shakes his head and lightly slaps his cheeks.]
No, we've got to stay positive! We just have to! [Positive, positive... Oh!] Why don't you join me under the blanket? That way, we can both stay warm!
no subject
[ He says it firmly without even thinking. Trying to comfort people comes automatically to him at this point, and it's only a moment afterward that he looks a little embarrassed and rubs at his face. ]
I mean, I'm pretty sure we're going to be okay. This place, um. Chroma, that is. It won't get any 'bonds' out of us if we don't make it out, right? So. I'm pretty sure we'll be okay.
[ He probably shouldn't get too solemn when Riku doesn't even seem that down about it. It's pretty admirable, how he's keeping his spirits up despite his condition, and Jion looks over at the offer of the blanket. After a moment's hesitation, he goes with, ]
Um, sure? [ Less to keep himself warm, and more because he knows his body temperature tends to be pretty high. It should warm Riku up faster. ] Although it might get a bit cramped.

Yeah! We've made it out of all kinds of trouble before, haven't we? And if we're all together, we can come up with a solution!
[As an ordinary human, he may not be able to do much on his own. But with everyone working together, they'll probably be fine! Probably. Hopefully. Yeah. That's what Riku's going to tell himself, anyway.
Still, as soon as Jion accepts his offer, Riku grins and brandishes the blanket widely. Of course, he hasn't quite caught on to Jion's reasoning, but it's nice to be with other people... especially when it's so chilly.]
That's okay! I don't mind. I feel bad for taking this from you, so if it can warm us both up, we'll both be happier - and warmer! Come on!
