t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out.
There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see.
But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out.
Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over.

In the end Vriska just kind of shrugs and goes along with it, interested to see what he'll actually do with it. Though hassling him definitely remains an option on the table. ]
Wherever there's shit to beat up. I came from that way, [ she says, jerking a thumb over her shoulder, ] so we're going the right direction if we're looking for fresh victims. You know, as fun as it is to fight these things, it is totally unsatisfying how they just kind of burst into snow once you win. [ ::::( ]

They don't respawn, do they? We could probably spread the snow out to split them further apart. [He hasn't quite realized what he specifically could do to these knights, but he'll probably find out soon enough.] What were you hoping for instead?
no subject
[ She kinda shrugs up at him. ]
You know, for how formidable they looked, I thought they'd splinter or shatter like ice! Nope. Just poof. Boring.
no subject
Maybe whoever brought us here didn't want us to actually have a challenge on our hands.

Thanks for the physics lecture, as if I didn't know! I think I was maybe counting on, oh, I don't know, the stupid bullshit magic of this place to be a little more impressive? Talk about a letdown.
[ Vriska stretches her arms above her head, scrunching up her face. It's been a while since she got to really exercise her powers. ]
Who knows? I mean, I know they've managed to catch some people, so they're not totally useless. But for those of us with the right abilities, they are pretty much a joke. [ she drops her arms with a sigh. ] Who knows. Probably they just want us to spin some kind of sufficiently romantic narrative.
no subject
And I don't think there's anything romantic about this. [Nothing romantic, nothing beautiful. It's just...dull. Chilled. He almost thinks to say something, but:] What kind of abilities do you have exactly anyway? Besides the obviously right ones.
no subject
[ A SHRUG. ] Anyway. I'm a Thief of Light. I can steal luck.
no subject
...anguish. Indecision. She used to say the most romantic thing was only half-knowing. [She, of course, being Aphrodite. He remembers that conversation a little too well.] So you're right, struggling to survive and get back to people we care about is probably romantic and dramatic.
[There's a soft "huh" sort of noise though.] Don't think I've ever met someone who can steal luck. You can channel it into bad luck after you steal it?
[How else are the snowflake knights getting crushed?]
no subject
Sounds like you've had to deal with this brand of bullshit before! Anyway, no, that's not exactly how it works, but you're close. When I steal someone's luck, they become extremely unlucky! Hence the slapstick buffoonery from earlier.
no subject
[Riptide twirls a little more pointedly in his hand. He's itching for something to do, even with as muted as he feels currently.] That's all a Thief of Light can do? [Light. Light's a whole other element from luck so he wonders if she has multiple abilities.
There's also the sound of footsteps ahead of them, so there's that.]
no subject
It is! It's most useful when I have opponents to fight.
[ His question gets a glance. ] You're perceptive! That's the core of my abilities, sure. But I can use luck to do a lot of different things! Maybe you'll get to see for yourself.
[ Given the sound from up ahead -- it sounds like crunching icicles -- they're gonna have a few new friends to pal around with. ]
no subject
Maybe sooner than we think. You take left, I'll take right? [They're going to apparently ambush these knights before they can swing first, it seems. That's always Percy's strategy though. Swing first, ask later.]
no subject
Works for me.
[ Man. She doesn't carry them with her these days out of habit, but she actually wishes she had her dice.
Still, it comes easily, when the knights come for them. Vriska's smiling, lifting into the air and zipping easily out of reach.
Coincidentally, around the same moment, the knight on the left seems to have some kind of footing issue. Can a snowflake knight slip on ice? It can now, and it goes crashing to the floor, its weapon scattering directly into the path of the knight on the right. How lucky! ]
no subject
Nice moves, actually. With the knights down, Percy uses his focus to check out the ice though and there's a slight twist of his wrist, the ice beneath the snowknights crackling and bending around them to trap them in place. The only problem, of course, is that the snowflake knights are also made of liquid. They aren't caught in the crossfire yet, but he's drawing enough power to continue creating a prison, drawing liquid subtly from the knights to create the walls of the cage.]
no subject
[ She's come back down to earth, curiously watching his work with the ice cage. Water powers? Ice powers? Both? ]
no subject
Curious if they'll be able to break out of this one. [He's also maybe fixated on trying to interrogate them. He'd thought about it when speaking with Maribelle, but. You know. Two dead souls don't get a lot done.]
no subject
[ Vriska will touch the bars of the cage as they form, though very lightly. ... at least until she taps on one. It won't break, will it? They'd be shit out of luck if they were that flimsy. (Which is why she's testing it.) ]
