t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out.
There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see.
But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out.
Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over.

[He can appreciate the forum, but he likes face-to-face communication more too.]
Though this isn't exactly the situation I was hoping we would meet in.
[It's kind of miserable, oops.]

[ She doesn't actually have any shards inching their way to her heart, but the point still stands that they're not in great conditions. The palace is completely made of ice, which means it can't even serve as shelter against the elements. She has a emergency backup in case anything goes wrong and the castle suddenly disappears or something, leaving them all to freeze in the snow, but...it consumes a lot of mana, it won't last forever, and would essentially out her true identity. Not fun! ]

[He shrugs a little, shaking his head.]
This is a big help though... any sources of heat and warmth will help us get through this.
[Which is what really matters, right? More than anything, if they stick together and get through this, they'll be fine.]

[ Umu. She nods, confidently. ]
Have you any idea how long this will last? The ruler of this palace seems to have deserted it completely! Not a word as to their return. As an emperor, I find that distasteful.
[ Nero does not make any sort of effort to hide her irritation. Even in her own debauchery in her mortal life, she at least made some efforts to tell her subjects and citizens when she'd be back from her trips. ...Although sometimes that was more because of her own ego (thinking that of course they would want to know, because they loved her) as opposed to administrative necessity. ]

[That gets a soft sigh out of him. If he knew how long this would last, it'd be a lot more tolerable, but...]
We've never really ended up in a place totally outside of the town before this. I'm not really sure what to make of it...
But we'll all be in trouble if it lasts for too much longer.

To be exposed to the cold this way, for long, does not bode well. I suppose if worst comes to worst, there is one thing I could do to shelter others from the elements, but not for days on end, and...
[ She falls uncharacteristically silent, for once, her lips pressed together in a thin line. Her glance falls to the fire instead. ]

[That's curious, but other than a curious hum, Minato doesn't press.]
... Don't worry too much, Saber-san. When we come together here, everyone is capable of pretty amazing things. That'll be true of this situation, too.
We'll make it through.

You are absolutely right! If you have a little hope, you can laugh. That's the people of Chroma for you, I suppose.
[ She looks around in the ice palace. ]
Which is much more than I can say for the ruler of this castle. They do not even seem to have subjects to rule over, save for those knights. It is beyond strange.

Like--
[Minato shrugs a little, struggling through half-formed thoughts.]
Well, I don't know much about ruling over a castle, but...empty castles don't seem real to me at all.
no subject
[ She thinks he gets what he's saying, that castles don't seem real unless there's people in them, but just for clarification's sake, she'll ask. Does it disturb him almost as much as it does her? ]
no subject
[Minato wouldn't have put it in such flowery terms, but she's not wrong.]
There just doesn't seem like much of a point to a castle without anyone in it, you know? It's so odd. And now that you bring up the knights... that's even weirder.
no subject
Of course, of course. A ruler is nothing without their subjects, a castle even moreso. I would even hesitate to call the current soldiers knights, for they are more like hollow dolls of cold, tenacious as they are in hunting down those who have done little wrong to them. We did not trespass on purpose!
[ It's not like they can really reason with them either, though. ]

Like something just made out of magic, right? Magic and snow...
[For some reason, it feels familiar, but he can't dredge it out of his memory right now.]
Well, if it doesn't really belong to anyone, then we have no reason to feel bad for trashing it on our way out.
[By lighting fires and things... oops.]
no subject
Exactly! And if those knights come at us, well, my blade is more than capable of melting them in their place. Have you been faring all right against them?
[ From one ruler to another, she should probably feel worse for trashing another's palace like this, but things refreeze quickly enough anyway that it's hard for her to care. ]
no subject
Yeah, more or less... they're not that dangerous so long as you're on your guard, you know?
[He did get thrown into the dungeons once, but when you have a fire Persona that's really not a big deal.]
Really, all of this seems more like a big inconvenience than anything super dangerous.
no subject
I would think that the possibility of frostbite and the difficulty of food procurement in frozen conditions count as more than mere inconvenience. It has been a while since I resided in a human body, but of this, I am certain.
[ She hasn't needed to eat for at least a thousand years or so, but even she knows that humans need to eat! And be in warm places...that's unfortunately one thing she also needs. ]

[...He shrugs.]
After the sirens, this just really feels a lot more peaceful. Maybe I'm getting too used to this sort of thing...
