t's very, very cold. It's cold enough that you'll see your breath fog in the air before you, that goosebumps appear on your arms and legs and a chill goes up your spine. You're inside, in a huge palace with sweeping arches and rooms, but it's no real shelter from the cold -- it's just as cold inside as out. There's a throne room, a kitchen, various rooms and even a dungeon to be explored -- and outside, a frigid, frozen garden, a lake that's naturally frozen over, and miles, and miles of snow as far as the eye can see. But be careful while you explore. The snowflake soldiers are naturally dangerous, but even more dangerous than that...there's that creeping sensation of numbness going up your arm, a pang through your chest, and the slow, slow freezing from the inside out. Try not to leave any of your friends behind, okay? Even if they might look a bit too uncannily like some of the statues hanging around for decoration when they're frozen over. [ There’s only the briefest pause before Jion gives her a reassuring grin, puffing out his chest a bit. ]

I’ll be okay for now! I’m pretty used to cold weather, and I’m dressed pretty warmly, so!

[ He’s already fastened up the collar of his jacket and fluffed up the high neck of his sweater. And besides, she looks like she’s really not having a great time in the cold. Are her clothes that flimsy? ]

... Very well. You have my thanks.

[But her voice is listless as she says this, slowly taking the blanket to wrap it around her.]

[ He’s quiet for a moment as he watches her wrap the blanket around her. But then Jion leans down and in a little, trying to get a better look at her face.

He might be leaning in juuuuuuust a little too close. ]

Hey, um, are you alright? Like, other than the cold, I mean.

[troubadamsel]

I'm all right as anyone can be in such a situation... Suddenly trapped elsewhere and with a million questions in mind.

[She sounds snarky, but her voice is empty.]

[ Yeah, that ... doesn’t seem quite right. There’s an uneasy pause as Jion frowns, before he goes, ]

Sorry, ‘scuse me for a second, okay?

[ And then he puts a hand on Maribelle’s forehead. Free hand touching at his own forehead, he looks off to the side, brow furrowed in thought. ] Doesn’t feel like you have a fever or anything ...

[Normally, Maribelle would have given him a swift kick in an Unpleasant Place for such a touch. Right now, it just gets a surprised 'ah'.]

... I don't feel I have one, either. You could have asked.

[organfarm]

[ Maybe she's just normally like this? Minato's pretty deadpan most of the time ... but this feels kind of different? Her wording feels really at odds with her attitude, and Jion nervously rubs at his jaw. ]

Well, you know how sick people sometimes can't tell they're really sick, I thought it might've been that. [ An uneasy pause before he adds, ] Um, wanna try and get something to eat? It's important to eat when you can when you're in the cold, maybe that'll help you feel a bit better?

[troubadamsel]

... If we can spare the supplies. Very well.

[She merely nods, awaiting further command from here on.]

[organfarm]

Well, I dunno if I'd call them supplies, exactly, but I passed by what looked like a kitchen earlier and it looked like there was stuff there? So we can go check it out?

[ He starts down the hallway, and gestures for Maribelle to follow; he's careful to make sure she keeps up. ]

It wasn't far from here.

[troubadamsel]

[Maribelle follows, slowly but surely.]

That will do. I don't need much.

[organfarm]

[ This ... is definitely not normal, right? It's partly meant to be a test, but it's partly just pure awkward nervous when Jion gives a wobbly laugh and chirps, ]

I mean, worst comes to worst, I guess we can start cannibalizing each other, so!

[ Surely, any normal person would react to that??? ]

... I doubt it'll come to that.
