So you want to be a time traveler! Luckily, Dave is pretty free with the information that he plans a time travel expedition (or, rather, Several) for the sixteenth, and he doesn't much care who joins in. Everyone who shows up is promptly sorted into a smaller group to get yanked back and forth in time, and Dave's pretty blase about the entire thing.

Stragglers are probably welcome if they want a solo tour, and flag Dave down, but sign-up'd groups will have their own toplevels which I will be copy-pasting shortly, hello.

[ the first group to get to go on a trip includes john for the very simple reason of "this was a requirement per john". dave cracks his knuckles, waiting on the edge of the woods and then sliding on in once the others catch up. ]

Okay. So, I figure we'll start off easy and try to go out to the island - moooostly 'cause John and I can fly there or we can just take one of the ships we...still have? And he can windy thing us on over. Figure I'll tackle the town later if this one works.

[ he's wary about getting another headache, tbqh. ]

Y'all ready for this? Hands and arms must be inside the ride at all times, and flash photography is not permitted. Minato, you gotta hold my hand.

[ no one else. just minato. ]

MOGGET, VALVATOREZ, MICHEL (TOWN GROUP 1)

[ is someone going to hold the cat. dave kind of wants to hold the cat. he even looks like he kind of wants to hold the cat.

anyway! dave grins at the guys, and ushers them into the woods. ]

Okay, so. Preferably y'all ain't gonna jump off the ride or anything - the ride, for the record, is like a five foot radius of me in case I gotta throw us forward again - but the goal is jump back in the woods and just WALK out to the town, because fuck you time training wheels, I got your number.

[ ...confidence aside he has no idea if he has their number, actually. ]

GIORNO, IZUKU, GAELIO (ISLAND GROUP 2)

[ dave's not at all familiar with gaelio, but izuku gets a slight smile and a wave and giorno gets a nod. and, well, he doesn't mind not knowing someone who's coming along - sooner or later everyone meets everyone else, right?

it's a small town.

his hands are in his pockets as he leads the way into the woods - not very far, just enough that he's solidly Not In Town. ]

Okay, class, we got any questions, or do y'all understand the deal?

SASUKE, ZELDA, LINK (TOWN GROUP 2)

[ link gets a moderately curious look as dave ushers the group into the woods a little ways. enough to be not in the town but not enough to risk finding a sphinx or whatever the hell else is creeping around this month. he has the same ears as zelda, and she seems familiar with him...

maybe he's the knight.

well, anyway. ]

So this is how it's gonna go: I loop back here, we walk over to town, and hopefully none of y'all tries to change the time stream lest we have a huge headache on our hands. Yeah?

NERO, SANS, OKUNI (TOWN GROUP 3)

[ okuni is the only person in this group dave even remotely knows, but he's amiable as ever, easygoing and fairly calm as he escorts them maybe ten feet into the woods. ]

Anyone here ever time traveled, or are you all newbies?

[ ...And then turns sheepish, shrinking a little. ]

But, as for the more technical details...I cannot provide those. That doctor and Miss Da Vinci are always the ones who handle it.

[Mogget trots right along with the group, making sure to glare up at anyone who steps even the slightest bit too close for comfort. What's up, friends!]

Ah, yes: the genius of simplicity. [The quietest of snorts!!] But I will ride on your shoulder, if you've no objection. I wish to avoid being stepped on when something inevitably occurs.

[ Sans gives a slight shrug of his shoulders at the question, waiting for Nero to finish (human history??? Da Vinci????) to give his piece. ]

can't say i have personally. it's, uhh, not something a lot of people could do where i'm from.

[ He's certainly familiar with the theory of it, that's for sure. ]

[Okuni follows along, looking at her current comrades with unabashed curiosity that probably feels uncomfortably like her staring for long periods of time, so there's that!! Dave's question at least distracts her, turning her gaze away from Sans (SANS IS COOL TO LOOK AT...)]

I've never done or heard of it before. Which is why I'm here! [truly, okuni has no experience or skills to really bring to the table here but that's fine she has

That, and she has full faith in Dave that whatever happens, it... can't be as bad or embarrassing as sleeping in a well for a whole night.]

[Val looks maybe predictably interested at the idea of something happening. Look, he hasn't had a proper fight in ages and he wants to destroy something. It's just a demon's nature.]

Time training wheels?

[He sounds pretty amused.]

[Excuse??????? He opens his mouth to, like, protest that before he decides better of it and just following along as usual.]

Wait if Minato's holding your hand then what are Ryoji and I doing? Am I holding his hand? [This is maybe a joke but also they're getting off to a great start.]

Would you like to hold my hand, John?

[ Ryoji laughs, extending his hand towards John- but it's backwards, with him tossing a glance over his shoulder as he leans out over the side of the boat because Dave hadn't banned heads, only limbs. Somebody should grab hold of his hand, if only because the boat isn't equipped with seat belts.

He has no idea what to expect from the "island" they're talking about, not having known known about anything of the sort before, but islands sound fun- he imagines palm trees and fire pits and a sparkling beach, and does his best not to think about whether the demons in the last body of water he'd been on would show themselves in this one. ]

[ gaelio .... is new. he must've came just from the recent batch of newcomers. what an introduction he's gonna have to this town with their motley crew and its ever-shifting landscape. he hopes he can keep up with them. ]

All good on my end.

Should we have a round of introductions? Or are we comfortable enough skipping that and putting our lives in each other's hands? [ giorno is all smiles. not that he's expecting death and danger, but - actually, well, it's better to just be careful. ]

[ ...honestly true, they can't do worse than the well shit. dave nods, though. ]

Okay, well, no time like the present. Haha, get it, a time joke - yeah anyway.

[ MOVING ON - dave holds out his hands and his time tables - spinning floating records - appear. he spins them and the world...

the woods, colorless, remain so, but some trees have moved around and it looks a little different. time-past different. ]

[ Nero stands still, surprisingly enough for someone with her amount of energy and enthusiasm, and waits for the spinning floating records to finish spinning before she speaks. This particular world shift is nothing like Rayshifting, unfortunately. No glowing blue circle and time and space warping themselves around them, no woosh of air as they land. There's no landing at all, even.

She looks around, taking in the sight. ]

Hm, there are...minor changes, I believe. Nothing so drastic so far.

[ okuni pls stop staring @ him....he is a delicate skeleton

He watches silently as the scenery changes, gaze flickering from the actual act of time travel itself to the discs Dave uses to manipulate it. There's a hum, quiet as it is, following Nero's comment. ]

[Oh my god.

Minato was totally okay with rolling with this entire situation when Dave brought up the possibility, but he also just ends up kind of blinking between John and Dave before he shrugs and offers Dave his hand.

Sure.]

I guess we could all hold hands.

[No problems here... apparently? Dave, you have a boyfriend already.]

[ and dave very much adores his boyfriend, but he also unfortunately enjoys giving his boyfriend a hard time. and also hanging off of minato. this is a two birds, one ridiculous stone sort of situation.

he flashes a grin john-wards as he takes minato's hand. ]

The buddy system might stop you from vanishing into thin air. [ to john. but dave's free hand slides out into thin air itself, and suddenly one of his time tables is there.

he spins it, and the world changes in a flicker of red and gears, winding back to a day a very long time ago. ]

On my end, too. [Dave gets a smile right back before Izuku turns his attention to the rest of the group.]

Introductions sound good! There's a couple people here I don't know yet. [Izuku gives Gaelio and Giorno a slight bow of the head.] I'm Izuku Midoriya. Looks like we'll have each other's backs if anything happens.

[Just in case! Izuku's hoping that everything will go smoothly, of course, but it's never a bad thing to be prepared for the worst case scenario.]

[There's an eyeroll but he grins anyway and grabs Ryoji's hand to also make sure the group doesn't accidentally go head over heels into the water and he watches the time table appear suddenly.]

We'll see. Let's get going. [And while he's never timetraveled like this before, he's prepared enough thanks to his own worldhopping adventures and just does his best to make sure Ryoji and Minato stay with the group.]

[ Ryoji, an equal opportunist hand-holder: being in a relationship shouldn't preclude one from holding hands? that's just silly. He holds John's hand tight when it's offered, and also takes Minato's other hand just because it's there.

Everything else, he entrusts to Dave- that they get to where and when they're supposed to, that nobody goes vanishing into thin air, that everybody's limbs are intact in the process. He keeps his gaze out over the water, watching; he'd never timetraveled in the backwards sense, but sometimes he'd blink and it'd be 3249087 years later, so it'd be interesting. ]

How far back are we going, Dave?

[ Dinosaur era? Please let dinosaurs have existed, please please please ]

[ as much as she wants to explore and touch and take, scientific curiosity always so strong, she knows dave is right. they all agreed to do this his way and she'll respect that, even when it's hard and tempting. ]

It's actually kinda hard to judge accurate "whens" even for me. This place is finicky about time. It's like - I can do stuff, in real specific circumstances, but even a time god can't tell when precisely. I guess it fits the theme, though?
