t's a regular morning here in the Town. The sun isn't shining at all, snow is falling like crazy, and...there may be the sounds of shouts coming from the well, thoroughly muffled. Okay, so it's not a regular morning at all, but you'd better go help those people! The newcomers are here again. Of course, once you get to the well, you'll notice that there's actually no real help you can offer -- it's totally frozen over. As for the newcomers, well... hopefully being suddenly dumped into freezing cold water in the middle of November in a dark, damp well is your idea of a good time, because that's your life now! And that's not even taking into account the mirrors in everyone's homes that are about to wake up and start chattering... Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! We're in no position to have high standards. But it's not as if we have common criminals and murderers dragged here with us.

Yeah? [ He forces a smile. ] Well that's just great, this place already sounds a hell of a lot safer than any place I've been.

... Death isn't permanent here.

[flinty]

Huh? [ Choubee appears visibly taken aback by her words, eye widening. ] Is that for every living thing here?

[troubadamsel]

So far, it seems to only apply to people like you and me - those who come from another world. It makes an odd amount of sense, because our realms appear to be frozen in time... we've had people from other's future and past come here, and remark they never knew the other was gone. Therefore, they couldn't die permanently here, in order to keep their timeline straight.

[so are your eyes spinning yet]

So not even death itself can tell us shit, huh? Damn. [ But if he thinks about it it's... incredibly cruel. Death isn't permanent for the sake of the timeline of their world, but who's to say that the appearance of someone familiar, from the future, would be a good thing? ] Well I guess I'll just live it up here until I can find a way to get back home!
