t's a regular morning here in the Town. The sun isn't shining at all, snow is falling like crazy, and...there may be the sounds of shouts coming from the well, thoroughly muffled.

[He knows Yu said he can fight, but he'd still feel better if he were the one about to launch the attack, if necessary. As long as he moves fast, he's sure he could give Yu time to run.]

[He steps forward towards the creature.]

[He coughs. If Yu's going to answer he's going to do it right.]
We wanted to let you know

[It's not...quite a rhyme but Yu attempted.
The creature paces back and forth in quiet contemplation before finally answering;]
The answer sought was shadow
It is also the soul's window
To the both of you,
Relish your victory as I now say adieu.
[Before it takes off, it does add something specifically for Yu;]
Lion cub, work on your rhyme
The one you gave me was a crime.
[It gives him a grin full of sharp teeth before finally leaving with the teenager standing there watching it go.]
...we couldn't pet it.
[that is clearly more of a crime than his rhymes.]

He watches the sphinx go, glad that they answered the question correctly and there wasn't a fight, but sad for the same reason. Aw... and it looked soft, too...]

[He sounds disappointed.]
At least we finished the quest.

[Yu is still new to the woods. Please give him time.]

He peers into the trees.]

[Maybe they can trace back their steps. What he wouldn't give for Rise or Teddie's sense of smell.]

[He looks up the nearest tree, to see if it's tall, before looking back at Yu.]

[He looks at a large, nearby tree, mostly trunk and less branches before he takes a running start and manages to move upward enough to grab one of the branches. Pulling himself up is the easy part, but his motions could use a little finesse. He looks back at Akira.]
Do you need a hand up? I think the branch should be able to handle the both of us.

[He also runs, using the bark to help himself... although he doesn't get quite the height that Yu does. He ends up hanging onto the branch, feet on the trunk.]

[He almost had it by himself!]

[Yu extends his hand so that the other can climb up, being careful not to slip off himself.]

[So they make it up higher. Akira looks out over the top of the forest. Not much to see behind them, but there is the town in the distance.]
