Event Thirteen.

The cracks of paint and varnish on the brow; Soon to distrust all impulses of flesh That strews its sawdust on the chamber floor, While at the window peer two crones Who once were Juliet and Jessica. | |
Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. Please keep in mind that while this is a general event log, it is also an intro log; be sure to pay plenty of attention to our newcomers! |

[ said with just a hint of humor—sierra would never actually, sincerely call anyone else by a proper title, even at her most dire, but it’s almost like an affectionate petname toward maribelle. ]
I suppose you talked yours into submission.
no subject
Er... well... not exactly...
no subject
“Not exactly”?
no subject
I broke my mirror.
[Don't try to phrase it like it was an accident, mari.]
no subject
[ sierra thinks about it and tries to imagine it, and she hasn’t yet seen maribelle’s temper in all its fury. it’s hard to conceive. ]
Do you mean to say you dropped it, or something with more… purpose?
no subject
... I threw it across the room at my house, intending to break the damnable thing.
no subject
[ it’s not a bad idea, really. sierra wants to snap hers over her knee, and hearing that someone like maribelle has practically done just that… ]
And did it work?
no subject
no subject
[ this is a bad idea, surely, and sierra knows it—but it’s perhaps a weak fondness for maribelle and her own irritation growing that causes her to take action. she shifts her grip on her mirror, thumb pressed to the center of the glass, and squeezes. the mirror snaps. ]
Then, I will too.
no subject
Sierra, no! What have you done?!
no subject
[ the mirror is abruptly silent, now that it’s broken, but sierra is kind enough not to drop the pieces of broken glass all over the church floor. ]
It was too keen to tell my secrets, anyway.
no subject
no subject
[ she’s probably going to eat those words in a few weeks, but for now, she’s totally confident. ]
no subject
[oh snap, the big f word.]
no subject
[ it’s sweet. too sweet, really, and sierra is glad that her mirror no longer has a say in it. ]
Then, the same goes for me. The next time something reckless is presented as an option, please refrain from taking it, would you?
no subject
[Welp. No denying that - guess this sort of thing does cut both ways.]
... I see. A-hem. Well... it seems we could both stand to listen to one another more, and not just for compliments.
no subject
Damn the need for responsibility, hm? [ she carefully removes one of the larger pieces of her shattered mirror, holding it up—she still catches no sight of herself in the reflection, as usual. ] If you begin to feel any side effects, come find me. I’ll kill the bastard who gave us these mirrors.
no subject
You'll have to get in line for that, believe you me.
