Event Thirteen.

The cracks of paint and varnish on the brow; Soon to distrust all impulses of flesh That strews its sawdust on the chamber floor, While at the window peer two crones Who once were Juliet and Jessica. | |
Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. Please keep in mind that while this is a general event log, it is also an intro log; be sure to pay plenty of attention to our newcomers! |

Well— everything, I suppose. We haven't actually begun, past gathering volunteers... I have plenty for digging pits and heavy lifting, so besides that, I'm open to suggestions.

Well, at least they don't have to worry that much about labor. That's a start. ]
I see. I can assist in those as well, but if you are truly lost for inspiration and structure, I can also procure blueprints that may serve as a good start. I am an architect, and it would be an insult to my people's fondness for bathing were I to neglect a public works project such as this!
Have you decided where it will be constructed? How it will be heated? It should not only have frigidariums.
[ Don't let her take all the creative reign...or else it will be peppered with gaudy marble statues. It's true that she's fonder of the more...artistic side of designing buildings, but she's still a dead emperor with some amount of architectural skill. She's penned her fair share of actual public works projects. ]

I've been advised to take on a minimalist approach, in order to conserve materials. Just so you know.
That said, there are plenty of yet unused buildings around, some of which could be converted into something suitable. I have volunteers who are capable of producing ice and fire at will, although lighting a fire by hand is always an option. This is of course assuming that we cannot locate a natural hot springs.
A cold bath with an accompanying sauna has also been suggested.

I understand. The population here is not large, so the venue should not be, either.
Those are both wonderful ideas as well. However, it may be better to assume that the fires are lit by hand, for one cannot always depend on those particular volunteers to be there.
[ Existences, here, or in any Singularity, or as a Servant, are transient things. ]
How have things been faring regarding the cleaning compounds? The oils and the soaps.
no subject
There is at least one person making soaps, but that is all, as far as I know.

Then it sounds like you are in fairly good shape, if not the most fortunate in terms of resources, but that is likely no fault of your own.
[ Probably. Certain areas had only a certain amount and type of natural resources. ]
At any rate, I have quite the knowledge of bathhouses (if they are not from the East), so do not hesitate to consult me for anything, even beyond floor plans. However, I must adjust to this place before I can give my proper opinion.
I am far from subservient, but I have little problem with assisting with this project! Consider yourselves fortunate to gain my favor so quickly.
[ You're welcome!! ]

Well, alright. Thank you very much. My name is Reim, by the way, if you think of something else. My "color" is red, but I live in the "yellow" district in town.
We're considering putting the baths there, as an aside. There's more space.

I see, I see. All right, I shall keep that mind.
And you may call me Saber.
