Event Thirteen.

The cracks of paint and varnish on the brow; Soon to distrust all impulses of flesh That strews its sawdust on the chamber floor, While at the window peer two crones Who once were Juliet and Jessica. | |
Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. Please keep in mind that while this is a general event log, it is also an intro log; be sure to pay plenty of attention to our newcomers! |

[It's a warning growl under his breath. Ryo's basically admitting he could say those things, and maybe he really would do so in his 'future', whatever that means. So it wasn't a trick. Ryo's unhinged speech really was just Ryo, deep down.
Maybe part of Akira has always known that. Still, it hurts.]
What's to stop you from making people turn on each other here, too? What have you been doing here?
no subject
He keeps his gaze on Akira, steady and focused, pushing his hands into his pockets. It'd be easier if Akira could just forget about this and move on, but that's likely just wishful thinking. Akira is here and he's angry at him for something Ryo hasn't even experienced yet (or forgotten, he supposes, but timeline shenanigans is the more likely scenario between the two). He's just going to have to deal with this. ]
A war here would accomplish nothing. There's no demon threat. [ He replies, voice neutral and calm. His fingers curl inside his pockets. ]
I've mostly just been living, I suppose? I've been trying to find answers to our current situation and adjusted to going without modern amenities. Sometimes I go on quests—they're tasks given to us by someone going by the handle of #FFFFFF on the internet forum accessible through our laptops. Completing them nets you rewards of varying quality.

[Akira steps towards him like he wants to grab him and shake something that makes sense out of him, but he doesn't, settling for baring his teeth and growling instead. He might not be yelling any more, but that response makes him no less angry than before.]
I'm going to find a way home. If there aren't demons here, I'm wasting my time.
no subject
He was supposed to help humanity; he's sure he genuinely felt that way at some point, but now he just wants to watch them tear each other apart like startled animals. They're weak and undeserving of being the dominant species on the planet. ]
You're not going to find a way home so easily. [ ... ] There are demons in the forest, but don't go looking for them alone.
no subject
[If he has to go hunt them alone, he will. He turns away from Ryo and walks off in disgust, not really caring if Ryo follows one way or the other. He doesn't understand his friend any more, and trying to get a straight answer out of him is obviously impossible, so he'll figure out things here on his own. Chances are he's probably lying about the town for his own reasons, too.]
no subject
Don't be stupid, Akira.
no subject
Shut up. I'm done listening to you.

[ Akira's harsh do make him halt in his step, though, and he watches him walk away with his nails digging into his palms—let Akira have his little tantrum, he'll cool off and come back to him eventually. This won't be any different from that little fight they had when he tried to shoot Miki. ]
My hex code is #DC666E—contact me using your laptop when you feel like talking to me again, and please don't do anything rashly. The forest is a dangerous place.
[ There's concern bleeding into his voice as calls out after him; it's rare, but genuine. ]
no subject
[Akira has no idea what a hex code is and has even less interest in memorising one. He did everything Ryo had asked him to do up until this point, but this is where it stops. There are other people in the town who can help him, and even if they can't, going alone has to be better than this.
So, without looking back even once, he walks away into the heavy snowfall.]
no subject
looks like he's going to have to do some stalking to find out where Akira lives. ]
