Event Thirteen.

The cracks of paint and varnish on the brow; Soon to distrust all impulses of flesh That strews its sawdust on the chamber floor, While at the window peer two crones Who once were Juliet and Jessica. | |
Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. Please keep in mind that while this is a general event log, it is also an intro log; be sure to pay plenty of attention to our newcomers! |

Then she'll smile and shake her head. ]
Something like that! It sure was some dumb teenage decision-making on my part. I wasn't really expressing myself so much as trying to conform to what I thought someone else wanted, and it didn't really work out. I mean, I don't totally hate them, but they're kind of a reminder of my own utterly cringe-worthy behavior, you know? Yours are cool, though.
[ shrug. at least he doesn't seem frightened of her anymore. ]
Anyway, nope! I'm an alien. Don't worry about it. Most humans I run into get kind of freaked the first time they see me.

Thank you! I've gotten them pierced to match with my unit, so it's not too far off from your reason... Still, so long as you don't regret getting them, it should be all right?
[ and now that she confirmed it, she really does look nothing from earth... his glasses prescriptions are that off, huh. ]
Don't worry about it either, I'm kind of used to dealing with alien-like people, but they're nothing like you at all. [ ... ] Which isn't a bad thing, of course! I've never met an actual alien myself so I wouldn't know how to react? I apologize in behalf of the human race, though.
no subject
... alien-like people? Are you for real? That's racist. [ It's a shame she can't roll her eyes, but the way she gives her head a little shake seems to suggest the same idea. ] God. Forget it, there's nothing to apologize for. Yours is far from the worst reaction I've gotten. At least you didn't scream.
[ ... ]
You sure you don't want me to break your mirror though?
no subject
[ you know what, let's just. drop that for now. his smile seems a bit warmer this time as he shakes his head again at her offer. ]
No, I'm good. I won't stop you from breaking yours, though.
[ he may have terrible eyesight even with a pair of glasses but he can't miss the muffled babbling coming from her pocket. he'll try not to make out the words her reflection is saying for the good of everyone. ]
no subject
ah well. rather distracted from the darkness of her original mood, vriska just shrugs broadly. ]
Eh. I know I probably shouldn't and some bad shit will probably happen to me if I do, but I also don't care? What can they do to me, anyway. Oh! Yeah. I guess I should explain. The reason I don't really care about breaking it is because I have awesome luck powers, so I doubt it would actually affect me much.

[ a long, almost comical beat, and then - ]
I-Is it all right if I can borrow some of that?
[ PLEASE, HE'S JUST THE UNLUCKIEST GUY IN THE WHOLE HUMAN WORLD ]
no subject
luckily (HA HA HAR) for him, that makes vriska burst out laughing. ]
You know, it actually surprises me that you're the first person to ask me that. What is it, exactly, you need luck with? Or are you just unlucky in general, because honestly, I can relate.
no subject
Just unlucky in general. Back home I had to follow my daily horoscope to the very letter and bring good-luck charms everywhere I go to ward the bad vibes away. [ ... ] It... works most of the time? But it must be cool to be able to have power over luck. How are you so unlucky then if you have that ability?
no subject
While I'd love to help, the answer is no! I simply cannot use my powers that way. I can only steal luck from others to make myself luckier, not give luck away. At best, I could make you passively lucky if you hung around me, or your good fortune benefited me in some way.
[ she's kind of a chatterbox when she's in a good mood, huh? though, some distant part of her thinks that it's good to see him smiling, too. it is a huge improvement over his nervous fear from before. ]
no subject
Magic 8-balls are particularly helpful?, I think? Especially when you're feeling indecisive. Though it's not a popular toy in the country I came from...
But if you don't mind an old frump like me as company, then I'd be delighted! I could really use all the luck I can get, passive or otherwise. [ still dude you're only 17, shush - ] My name is Tsumugi, by the way. Don't know why I just didn't introduce myself to you first.
no subject
[ a beat. ]
If you really want to, sure? Tsumugi. Man, you guys have the weirdest names. [ vriska, that's racist. ] I'm Vriska! Nice to meet you, even if it turns out you might be kind of a goober.
