t's a regular morning here in the Town. The sun isn't shining at all, snow is falling like crazy, and...there may be the sounds of shouts coming from the well, thoroughly muffled. Okay, so it's not a regular morning at all, but you'd better go help those people! The newcomers are here again. Of course, once you get to the well, you'll notice that there's actually no real help you can offer -- it's totally frozen over. As for the newcomers, well... hopefully being suddenly dumped into freezing cold water in the middle of November in a dark, damp well is your idea of a good time, because that's your life now! And that's not even taking into account the mirrors in everyone's homes that are about to wake up and start chattering... Welcome to Awash's thirteenth event log, everyone! [ GOOD, A HOUSE. WARMTH. honestly for a moment her focus is genuinely on getting inside. she doesn't shiver even when out of the biting cold, but she does run her hands up and down her arms, sighing out of relief.

... still. his question deserves answering. so, like, a minute or two later: ]

We are. It's just. ... it's nice to hear, I guess.

[glaciers]

[He disappears for a moment, getting the towel, before showing back up and handing it over.

Don't mind him, he's just casually starting a fire in the fireplace with his quirk.]

Good. I'm still not really used to having them.

[hypertoxic]

[ Immediately Vriska presses the towel to her head, basically disappearing beneath it as she tries to get all the ice and water out of her hair. Without even moving the towel so she can see, she navigates her way over to the fireplace just by following the heat and plops down in front of it.

At which point she will groan soulfully and just kind of melt into a grateful troll puddle for a minute or two.

Eventually she shifts the towel to wrap around her shoulders and look up at him. ]

You? But you're so charming.

[glaciers]

[He settles down next to the fire and stares into it for a moment. "Charming"? That's a weird thing to say about him.]

... You have weird tastes.

[Yeah, that sounds right.]

[hypertoxic]

[ That produces a very unladylike snort. ]

I mean, I was being incredibly sarcastic, but I guess you're not wrong. My dating history is bizarre. But anyway, if we pretend I was being serious, then doesn't your doofus have the weirdest taste?

[glaciers]

He's never called me charming.

[Which he's never really cared about anyway.]

Besides, I won't complain about Izuku liking me.

[ this time she deadpans so it's a little more obvious she's being sarcastic. ]

Anyway, of course not. You're both disgustingly adorable. [ a beat and, more sincerely: ] I'm glad you're happy together. Told you you'd figure it out.

[glaciers]

[He doesn't. But he matches her dryness exactly.]

Yeah... Thanks. You have any questions about what you missed?

[ Vriska makes a thoughtful noise. Shifting the towel she starts to scrub at her hair. The fire is drying her clothes, but her tightly braided hair remains wet, to her chagrin. ]

I dunno. Everything? Given the wacky shenanigans that happen basically every month like clockwork I'm sure there's been a lot.

[glaciers]

I'm working hard. [It's so deadpan.]

Izuku got into a lot of trouble, All Might is here now. I got kidnapped by sirens once. People keep showing up in the well every two months, but this is the first time it had ice over it.

[hypertoxic]

Wait, All Might? [ She screws up her face in thought. ] I think Midoriya mentioned him once. He's here?

[glaciers]

He's Izuku's father. I think.

[Stop spreading fan theories, Shouto.]

[hypertoxic]

... seriously? He has his male guardian here? [ Vriska frowns thoughtfully. ] I'd like to meet him.

[ look she trusts shouto she thinks this is the actual truth ]

[glaciers]

[I hate this, Shouto believes it 100%.]

He lives in the yellow district. He has blonde hair and he's really loud.

I don't think you can miss him.

[hypertoxic]

[ guess they're the inaugural members of dad squad now ]

Haha! Seriously? I'll look for him. Seriously, I'd really like to get to know the person who could, like...

[ Vriska pauses and tilts her head, frowning in thought. ]

Inspire someone like Midoriya, I guess.

He's the reason I wanted to be a hero too. He's really amazing.

All Might was the number one hero for decades. I don't remember a time where he wasn't number one.

... When he held interviews... he would say stuff like the connection between parent and child wasn't what was important for quirks. What mattered was that it was our own, independent of our parent's powers.

[ Vriska directs her gaze into the fire, thoughtful. ]

Did I ever tell you about my ancestor?

[glaciers]

Marquise Spinneret Mindfang. [ She tilts her head back, staring up at nothing. ] I idolized her as a kid. She lived thousands of sweeps before my time, but she left a journal that I found, along with her legendary weapon. And as her descendant, I possess the same powers she did. I thought I needed to be like her in everything. Cool and powerful and feared and strong.

She was a charismatic but merciless killer who kept slaves and burned her enemies. Failing her wasn't an option!

[ A pause, and she shrugs. ] It's not like she was a parent to me, but her legacy shaped my entire life. I never really thought about trying to be different from her until way later. [ Another, quicker beat. ] I am glad you had someone like All Might to look up to.
