Shiho and Sierra

[She was all down for paying back the werewolves. But she'll admit she's also here partly because she's not sure what Shiho might do. Her best friend is really kind. But she also knows Shiho isn't logical when her friends are hurt.]

It's weird that we haven't run into anything.

[NOT THAT SHE WANTS TO RUN INTO ANYTHING. But...usually there'd be something by now, right?]

[regrede]

Is it? I’m quite unfamiliar with these woods.

[ of course, any sane person could see that this place is as haunted—or at least as dangerous—as they come, but sierra doesn’t find it explicitly strange that they haven’t hit werewolf territory yet. ]

What did they look like, anyhow?

Like gross wolves that walked on two feet? [so... like werewolves, really.]

And I'm kind of sad something hasn't shown up. [Because then Shiho would have a reason to bully something.]

Something usually happens when we get this far. It starts with fog and everything going silent. And then something dangerous will come out of nowhere.

[Or old ladies who give out riddles. Also she smiles at Shiho, half fond and half exasperated. Don't jinx them, best friend.]

They smelled too. Like a dog that hasn't bathed in months.

{And months.]

Ew. [ sierra’s disgust is genuine. ] Dogs are already so foul, I—

[ but just before she can finish that sentence, a howl breaks through her thought. it’s not quite howling at the full moon, since it’s not a full moon at all, but the sound is met with a chorusing response. all of the sudden, they’re close. ]

Is that them?

[Shiho narrows her eyes, setting one hand on the tree and turning her head in the right direction with unerring accuracy.]

Sounds like them. [Her voice is cold because she remembers them hurting Kaoru and she isn't one to forgive that easily.]

[She reaches out for Shiho's other hand, her hand turned so her fingers barely brush against Shiho's palm.

I'm fine. It all turned out fine.]

Yeah that's probably them. Don't let them bite you. We have the recipe for the cure but I don't know if we can find the ingredients again.

What’s the point of a recipe if you haven’t the ingredients?

[ but it’s no matter, anyway. sierra is already letting her fingertips crackle with electric energy, just in case they blindside her from any angle. ]

Can you girls fight?

It's basically scrap paper at this point. [Shiho pulls out her gun and walks closer to Kaoru, reaching out to take the other girl's hand.

She knows that Kaoru is fine now. But it could so easily have been terrible and she'll never forgive those werewolves for that.]

And we'll fight if we have to. We're here to teach them a lesson, after all.

The ingredients were found in the forest...I'm not sure if we'd be able to find them again.

[She shifted a little, letting her back face Sierra and Shiho. Trusting them to watch it for her.]

Don't worry, we may look like regular highschool girls but we're pretty strong!

[regrede]

[ of course that all the fools in this town would let something as important as a cure for the werewolf curse fall apart… but so be it, sierra supposes. she’ll just have to avoid getting hit.

soon enough, she can hear the pounding feet—paws?—of the werewolves approaching, but before they can actually break through the trees, sierra reaches out her hand to electrocute the nearest opening. it doesn’t actually hit a werewolf, but she can hear the squeal of intimidation anyway. ]

Oh my.

Nice shot. [Even if it didn't hit anyone, Shiho still derives some measure of satisfaction from that yelp.

Take that, werewolves.]

They're going to try to flank us. Kaoru-chan, five coming from your right. We're taking this to their town this time and we'll see how they like it.

I didn't know you could shoot lightning!

[It's clear from her enthusiasm that she thinks it's awesome! But as soon as Shiho speaks, she shifts to face where she said the werewolves were coming from, trying to put herself between the threat and her two friends.]

Don't worry, they won't get near us.
