Who: All Might and the 1-A kids (Izuku, Ochako and Shouto)
Where: Outside of town, near the forest
When: Today (3/11), afternoon
What: All Might tests his students' progress with their Quirks.
Warnings: None yet!
[It felt overdue, but in amongst Aizawa's disappearance from the town, All Might has to finally step up his game as a teacher and take more responsibility for his students, even here away from the school. The more they continue to grow as trainee heroes, the more they'll be able to protect each other and people in the town, too. So he sends a message to his students to ask to them to meet him at the edge of the forest where... he isn't around yet at the allotted time? Maybe he's running late? He doesn't have capturing villains to use as an excuse for lateness any more...]
I AM HERE, ARRIVING--
[A voice comes from somewhere above, and he falls out of the sky in typical dramatic style, landing in front of them with a flourish. Then he coughs and lets his muscle form go, reverting back to his usual self.]
--almost on time.
[Well, there's no need to hold on to his muscle form since the secret is out with these three, so he'll get right into things.]
I'm sure you all saw my message! Since you've all progressed without me here and at home, I'd like to see how your Quirks are coming along. Give me a demonstration however you like, and we can move on to some sparring. Do I have a volunteer to go first?

Shouto raises his hand and gets up.]
What do you want to see?
[Especially because it can be dangerous for him to let loose completely on either side.]
no subject
I'm glad you asked, young Todoroki! The last time I saw all your Quirks put to the test, it was during your practical exams in the summer.
If you can cast your minds back that far, I'd like you to think about how your Quirks have grown and improved since then, and show me anything you think is noteworthy.
[If he remembers right from the lesson plans they'd drawn up for the first years, the summer training camps after the exams were meant to develop special moves for them. Todoroki already had one, but perhaps there were other ways he'd managed to refine his Quirk, too.]

He's probably come a long ways from the summer exam, but most of that was learning how to rely on other people and not forcing his will. That's in intangible sort of thing, until he's working with somebody else.
While he still can't use both of them at the same time, he will create an angled ice wall. Unlike the previous incarnations, this one doesn't completely block off his ability to see his opponents.]
no subject
You're not sacrificing the strength or thickness of the ice to make it clearer? Impressive. It would be good to think about situations in which you might still want to use ice that's impossible to see through, and situations in which clear ice would be best.
[Perhaps he's already thought long and hard about it already, but it's the first thought that strikes All Might.]
What about your fire? Any changes there?
no subject
[The ice is just as solid as it ever is, but it looks more like glass than it ever has before. He's used to using the more opaque version of his ice wall and it's worked pretty well for him most of the time.
But being able to see an opponent is valuable, especially if they might have a hostage.
His fire however...He's able to use it.]
I haven't put in enough work yet.
[Read: I haven't gotten over all of my trauma. There's a possibility he can pump it up to blue flames, but that's just... uncomfortable for a number of reasons.]
no subject
This is fine for now. Work on it at your own pace, and I know you'll improve when you're ready.
[Maybe this is what Shouto meant about All Might being a pushover... But really, the fact that he's shown improvement even with just one half of his Quirk is an encouraging sign to him. The rest can come later.]
no subject
He gives him a solid nod before starting to melt down the ice.]
I'll work hard.

I'll go next!
[She walks over to stand in front of him, back straight and helmet (nervously) clutched tight to her stomach.]
I'm really trying to increase my limit, so I've been practicing with the huge rocks around the forest. I know that I can keep heavier things in the air longer than I used to! And I can keep myself floating for a longer time, too, but... I still get very nauseous. I know that I need to find a way around it.
[And there it is: her honest self-assessment.]
no subject
And then it's his turn. Admittedly, Izuku's more than a little nervous to show All Might what he's been working on. He's been working hard! Hopefully All Might thinks so, too.]
I've been trying to increase the power my body can handle without any pain. I'm at 25% now. [He fidgets, twisting his hands together in front of him.] Um...I've also been working on long range attacks with wind pressure. I haven't been able to control those too well, though.
