Into The Forest
WHO: All volunteers
WHERE: The forest
WHEN: April 6th, late morning
WHAT: Attempting to map out the area and finding much more than they bargained for.
WARNINGS: Violence
"There is absolutely no wildlife.
There are no mutant animals to be found.
The birds are silent. There are no bugs.
It's as if everything is watching, and holding its breath, and waiting."

Six years of mission experience kicked in. She wasn't the one with the plans in the Children, but Minamoto had made sure to drill into them basic protocol for different missions and how to prioritize what to do. After so long doing these sorts of things (and the many nights of reading Minamoto's notes and being quizzed on them) it came to her as naturally as breathing.
In a hostage situation, first is to secure the safety of the hostages.
Seeing that Kirishima was fine (really, if he could use his hardening she really didn't need to worry about him being eaten), she reached out to yank Joshua towards her with her powers. ]
Psychic Stealing From the Lion's Mouth!
[She did make sure to support his head to not cause whiplash but otherwise she prioritized getting him away over comfort. And if that wasn't enough to jar him out of whatever trance he was in she wasn't going to hesitate to slap him.
She really couldn't have known he was working towards snapping out of it himself. She's a psychokinetic not a telepath.]

[Kirishima manages half a pout as he looks over his shoulder toward her. Seeing that she is already working on getting their last teammate into safety his frown transforms into a wolfish grin as he lets his skin ripple some more to add some extra edges and hardness to his his exterior.
Then Kirishima turns around and lunges for the nearest standing banshee with an excited yell, jaws opening wide in a toothy grin that says only one thing: banshees mice - Kirishima cat.
He doesn't hesistate or pull his punches as he goes after the banshees, swiping his arms like blades at their sides when they try to hold still long enough so that they could pick up singing once again and goes with his fists after the ones who actually decide to fight. It doesn't take long until he lands the first clean hit into a banshee's wide opened mouth - and straight through it.]
Eh? What the- sand again?!
[Looking around Kirishima checks if any of the others has made the same experience with their defeated enemies.]

- he stays put for a moment longer, though, to take a few deep breaths. ]
Thanks.
[ That seems inadequate, honestly, but it's all they have time for. He springs forward, aiming straight for the throat on one of the banshees. ]

That was last time, Ei-chan. Stop living in the past!
[She can breathe a little easier, seeing Joshua's eyes lose that clouded look. Kaoru had seen enough brainwashed people since becoming a special esper and it really never gets easier. She gives Joshua a smile.]
No problem.
[But what she wanted to say was, we're in this together, right? but they'd have time for that later. She had to be careful with her powers, not being used to fighting along side these people, but it wasn't as if going crazy was the only thing she could do after being a special esper since she was ten.
She aims for the banshees farther away from them, the ones out of immediate reach and threw two against the trees.]
Psychic Killing Two Birds With--huh?
[...they disintegrated?
When she saw the banshee Kirishima punched burst into dust she had assumed he'd just hit harder than necessary. But Kaoru knew exactly how much force she put into that push and yeah, it might have given someone whiplash or maybe bruised something but it shouldn't have--aren't these things way too weak?!
--crap. If they turned into dust and disappeared what was she going to bring back for Shiho to read?!
In a panic, she reached out with her powers and, if anyone was paying attention, they'd notice a clump of a banshee's hair coming up like someone was tugging on it. Then she brought up two fingers, focusing her energy into a thin line.]
Psychic Hair Cutter! [And the hair seemed to break, as if cut with an invisible knife before she finished off by slamming it to the ground. She's half hoping no one will ask her why she's trying to collect banshee hair...]

He aims another good old punch at the banshee next to him and then falls into a loose battle formation that he has used a lot of times during their training matches in school. Kaoru with her long reach as the back pillar, Kirishima as the spear and shield to fall back behind for a breather at the front and Joshua as their most agile fighter to the side of the middle; easy to adapt and keeping anybody from jumping into their backs.
Despite the fight he ends up barking a laugh, breathing excited but even.]
Do you always call your moves names like some comic hero?
