Who: Minato, youuu and also questfriends eventually, probably
Where: Around Town, Near The Woods
When: Nebulous November Time
What: In which Minato's depressed Aigis is gone, distractions are attempted to be found, and he's way too close to the woods (also, quests)
Warnings: None atm!
A - distractions will surely help;
[It never really gets easier when people go home, but Aigis... Aigis was special. There was so much left unsaid, so much that he should have told her before she left, and now the thought that he's lost his chance to do so forever is... honestly really hard to swallow.
It's impossible not to notice that she's gone. Her room (and Levy's, too...) is empty, and while he's grateful for Valvatorez still being there so that he's not entirely left alone again, it's still far too quiet.
So he tries to keep himself busy. It'll be pretty easy to find him, considering he's out wandering pretty exclusively; he doesn't want to go back to the empty house, so he can be found fishing at the dock, head bowed, or listlessly walking through the town, hands shoved into his pockets and headphones on, or picking up skeleton bones to pile them up with a distant frown on his face.
Boy he looks like he's having such a great time.]
B - distractions, take two;
[Eventually, he tries something different when that's not working; he gathers what he has for ingredients, and he bakes. He's gotten much better at baking in this place after the past six or seven odd months here, because it's not like there's much more to do. They're nothing special, since he can only work with what he's got, but there's plenty of honey and some chocolate from his color rewards previously and since pie crusts have color restored...!!
... Well, flour isn't restored yet, but presumably mixing colorless flour and eggs with color to make pie crust and only pie crust makes it suddenly have color...? That's bizarre but Minato's getting pretty used to the town's weird rules, it's fine.
So! Apple pie and chocolate pie it is, sweetened with honey, complete with purple milk for the chocolate pie (does that make the chocolate pie purple-brown...?), and they turn out...pretty okay! However, it's infinitely more pie than he is willing to personally eat, so.
Knock knock, there's Minato at your door with a slice of pie.]
...Do you want this?
[Please take it.]
C - this is the bad option;
[Minato knows better, he really does. But...
It doesn't stop him from standing right at the edge of the woods, close enough to be beneath the shaded boughs, peering into the trees. It's cold, so he's got his hoodie on, hands tucked deeply into the pocket, scarf wrapped tightly around his neck...
But he's looking a bit too intently out there, fingers idly toying with the charm Guren gave him in his pocket, looking perhaps a bit too deeply in thought.
Watch him long enough without interrupting, and he might even take a step deeper into the woods.
(He knows he shouldn't, he really does, but... but what if they're all out there?)]
D - wildcard/quests

Minato snorts softly, shaking his head.]
It's about as weird as that. My friends and I went on a trip to Yakushima...and we found her there. Or, well, she found us, I guess...she was very robotic at that point, but she latched onto me and wouldn't let go.
She kept saying her purpose was to be by my side.
[IT WAS WEIRD.]
It all made sense later, but... it was definitely a meeting that's hard to forget.
no subject
...so she started out as a stalker-bot? [Please consider how you phrase this, Minato.]
no subject
[Sorry, but it's true. He loves her, but it's true.]
She used to undo the locks to my room, too, so she could keep an eye on me while I slept.
[A beat.]
... This sounds bad, doesn't it? She really just didn't know better back then.
no subject
[That's not even remotely the same thing but whatever.] And everyone else was just okay with this?
no subject
[Yukari flipped her shit.]
You're right, though. She was harmless, she just...didn't really understand human norms that well. That changed though, and she...really became the most dependable friend you could ever ask for.

[Minato pauses...and then shakes his head.]
It's a long story, though, and pretty complicated. I'm not opposed to telling you, but... maybe another time?
[If anyone would understand the Thanatos being sealed in his head deal, it'd surely be a demigod... but right now, it's a lot to share and a lot to think about.]
She had good reasons, though.
no subject
Sure. I'd like to hear it if you ever want to tell it. [Breezing past that, he focuses on the Aigis thing again.] People from your world keep showing up and disappearing here. Think there's a chance they might come back?
no subject
They might. We haven't been able to figure out a pattern... so...
[A helpless shrug.]
I have no idea. It's strange though, isn't it...? I wonder why I'm still here, when they've gone home.
no subject
I used to wonder the same about me before I realized exactly why this keeps happening to me. [There's a pause.] If I had to guess, there's something about you that this place finds beneficial. The whole point is to bring color back and make bonds with each other, isn't it? Maybe they think you're the best person for that job.
People from home keep showing up and disappearing for me, too. I've been trying to figure out why they're bringing some and taking away others, but nothing. I was hoping maybe the island would have answers but...[...] Sorry about that, by the way. I don't think I ever apologized.
no subject
[A quiet shake of his head, and:]
It was a good try, and... I'm glad we went. It's important to me too.
[Obviously, since he also keeps losing people...]
... I just hope that whatever reason we're here for...someday we get a bit more of a choice about it.
no subject
I think we might though. Get a choice about stuff, I mean. We're starting to get a choice about other things like what colors we're restoring. That could just be the first step.
no subject
[Minato meets Percy's eyes seriously for this, expression solemn.
He doesn't want anything to happen to his friend like this.]
no subject
I'll try. That about all any of us can do here, isn't it?
no subject
[He can't say he's 100% happy with that answer, but it's better than nothing, really...]
And if you ever need anything...will you at least let me know?
no subject
[He wants to try and be better, at least. Be more connected to people here and try to help.]
no subject
... Yeah. I will. I'll talk to you...when I need your help, Percy-san. That's the least I can agree to in return, right?
no subject
...I'll keep an eye out for her, too. I'm not giving up looking just yet. [So. It makes sense to try and find Minato's friends, too.]
no subject
[It's two simple words... but said very, very warmly, and very sincerely.]
You're...a really good friend, Percy-san.
no subject
The same could be said for you, dude. Just remember that.
