Event Twelve
![]() | |
All my oats are cradled. But I am too chilled, and too fatigued to bind them. And I hunger. | |
Welcome to Awash's twelfth event log, everyone! Further information on this event can be found here at the OOC post. |

But right, right—good sportsmanship is important, especially when you're about to kick someone's ass. She gives him a wide smile as she turns back toward the apple bobbing area and gestures for him to follow her.]
Good! We can figure out prizes when we get everything all set up, but for now... what's your name? I'm Ochako!

[He'll follow her along obediently, trying to think of what is a good bobbing for apples strategy. He has no idea. Should he try to keep his eyes open as he puts his face in the water...?]
Nice to meet you.

[Two Japanese kids take on a classic American... whatever this is. This is sure to go well, especially when they reach the tub full of water and Ochako begins throwing apples all up in it. She's not sure how many there are supposed to be, so? The more, the merrier?]
I was watching people earlier, [she begins, continuing to throw apple after apple into the water,] and they timed each other? A minute per person, I think! Or maybe it was two minutes? I'm not really sure, but the person with the most apples at the end won! So you can go first, and I can keep track of the time.
[When she's done, there are so many apples bobbing in the water? So, so many apples. Surely this is fine.]

He's still not entirely sure about all this, but he slides off his glasses and sets them aside, so they don't end up on the bottom of the barrel.]
How about one minute.
[Doing it for two minutes sounds like too much.]
What do you want if you win?
no subject
Okay, so if= I win, you'll have to... [HMM. Her eyes narrow the slightest bit as she seriously thinks about this.] ...Let me braid your hair? And you'll have to keep it like that for a whole day!
[There! Not particularly fun, but not particularly mean—the perfect balance, in her opinion. But since she's, you know, indulgently playing right along:]
And what do you want for winning?
no subject
[He thinks about this too, considering for a moment. Not too mean, not too fun...]
...I'll braid your hair instead.
[He has never braided hair in his life and it will look absolutely terrible. Ochako better win.]
