Event Twelve

I am a reaper whose muscles set at sundown. All my oats are cradled.  But I am too chilled, and too fatigued to bind them.  And I hunger.

ou know what's probably amazing? Waking up to your previously normal front door suddenly being covered by a huge, autumn-themed wreath. Or perhaps you're close enough to the center of the Town to look out your window and get an eyeful of that effigy, staring soullessly at you? The point is, there's a festival going on! The Town's been decorated accordingly (don't trip over sudden bales of hay), and towards the center of the Town, there are all sorts of fun games, tables of food, and other amazing things set up. Go prance onto the stage, sample some of the amazing food, convince one of your friends to play one of those bobbing for apples games... Enjoy it! There doesn't seem to be much of a catch this time. (At least, not until you eat the food, and then you'll figure out just what that "catch" is.) Welcome to Awash's twelfth event log, everyone! I am, aren't I? [She'll just fly them over to a nearby rooftop. She still finds this interaction weird but like...that can wait.]

Did you try the food, Ochako-chan?

[Oooh, a rooftop view! Ochako looks out over the edge, enjoying seeing people she knows scurrying about down there... but she's still tightly hanging onto Kaoru's arm. What if they come up here? What if Kaoru goes back down there? She won't allow it!!!

But ah, yes, a question—]

Mm-hmm! I was trying to eat a caramel apple when I saw you, but—well, did you see them? [She sighs contentedly.] They're huge! We should definitely split one.

[Except that requires going back down? Oh, dear. Just what she's trying to avoid.]

B-But we can do that later!

The food does all look pretty good.

[She's really not going to complain about having a cute girl hanging off her arm, so she's leaning in.]

How are you feeling?

[That is... an interesting question, actually, and she hums a bit as she thinks. She's feeling so many things! Happy things, now that she has Kaoru all to herself and now that Kaoru is leaning right against her, but...]

Good? Really good. It sounds silly, but I feel... warm inside. [She gives Kaoru's arm a quick squeeze.] I'm just happy that you're my friend, Kaoru-chan! I'm glad I met you here, and I'm glad that you're here with me right now!

[And no one will ever take you away—well, that's what she's thinking, but she's not about to say it. Not yet.]

[Okay. This seems more normal. Maybe it was just something about the crowd?]

I'm glad we're friends too! I'm so lucky...meeting you and everyone else here!
