As per the lovely mod PM: ...they can all shove themselves down into the well and have a fun sleepless night down there. One thing to note is that the well is going to be a fair bit less exciting this time -- it's a strange sort of thing, but if anyone can sense magic, they will sense that there is less magic in the well than there was the month before. It might have something to do with all of those new people the well spat out like a bad hairball! Either way, once the clock hits midnight, just like before, after standing in freezing cold water for hours, everyone will note that something's a little...strange. First? There are voices. The words are soft, but still audible -- men, women, children, all chattering about normal, typical life things. The common theme about the whole thing seems to be very simply an excitement about starting a new life here, where there's a beautiful forest, a lovely harbor, and all of the things they could possibly need to live a happy life. They won't see anything, but they will hear those wishes very distinctly, as if they're embedded in the well at this point. The second is that every character going into the well is going to come out of the well EXTREMELY drained. As in "needs to sleep for a solid 12 hours at the very least" sort of drained. You're donating to the "having enough magic to bring in future new characters" cause, guys, it's worth it. ＢＥＧＩＮ ＴＯ ＦＥＥＬ ＷＥＬＬ

[Well (hah), this may be the stupidest thing he's done in this place. He's aware of that fact, standing here at the bottom of the well now that everyone has descended. Still, he's committed to it, and that includes his little cooking challenge from Okuyasu. Now that they're here, he's unfolding the cloth he'd brought slung and tied over his shoulder and shoving two wrapped items at everyone here.

They're rice balls. The fillings are varied, but they're all colored food and all what you'd expect to find in a rice ball— he just made sure to make them have some variety since some people are picky. Everyone gets two. Including Connor, he's not up on the robot news.]

I don't want to hear complaints, refusals or any other comments. Take them and deal with it yourselves. [So, if you don't like your particular filling, too bad, says the tsun.]

ii. the night & aftermath

[Shenanigans aside, Guren is already exhausted. He shouldn't be pulling an all nighter in the well, but here he is, trying to. Arms crossed, leaning back against the wall of the well, eyes closed on occasion even if he focuses. But when the voices begin to start, his eyes shoot open again, and he'll be looking at everyone else to check that they hear it as well.

Talk it out with him, or just wait until morning. After all, they've gotta make sure things don't continue, right? So Guren stays here the whole time, and once morning arrives, he looks like he might fall over into the water. Still, he extends his hand to anyone nearby, regardless of whether they're capable of getting out of the well themselves. They look exhausted too, after all, and that's all Guren is worried about.]

Wait, what if I just have a question?? [ dave's not picky, but he is curious? he's never had a rice ball before. ] What's inside? I mean, I'll eat it, but this doesn't have to be a game show?

Yeah, it does. Okuyasu didn't want it to be boring, so I made it less boring.

[Enjoy your random ass onigiri, Dave. Guren is just the way that he is, like this...] Why, are you worried it'll taste bad? It's either meat or a vegetable, just be grateful.

No, I've just never had this before. [ but okay, a meat or a vegetable isn't so bad so he'll take a bite. ] So I didn't actually know? Like f it was gonna be sweet or sour or whatever.

[Okuni, with her mouth full of the riceball Guren had so kindly bestowed upon her earlier,]

Just voices? They could at least call us names again and make things interesting!

[They would probably be better off going to someone else. Though, just looking at them, he is already questioning the nutritional value of these; it might be fine enough for a snack, but it's hardly a balanced meal! Hopefully everyone ate before they came...]

[He doesn't want to hear it!! He's tsun, and he doesn't know if this is Connor being picky, or being kind and giving, or something else, but he doesn't stop to think about it because he's busy being embarrassed that he made them at all. He's like this.]

[ dave isn't standing in the water. he's floating above it, cross legged and hovering in the air, more reminiscent of john than himself usually. he usually walks everywhere when possible but given a choice between floating and standing in cold water? yeah, he'll float, thanks.

if anyone stares, he'll offer: ]

I'd offer a lift but you have to be chill with clinging to me for however many hours.

[ he's a little too tired to actually fly that many people out, but dave kind of listlessly points up. ]

This is hardly the first time I've had to sit in freezing water.

[it's fine, she can tough it out. that, and she'd rather Dave help someone else who really needs it.

[Okuni takes a moment to look you up and down, regardless of whether she knows you or not.]

[The noise she makes is full of both doubt and skepticism, like she just can't Believe that you've volunteered for this well party!!! whether her skepticism is deserved, well. just let her make rude noises at you at first sight.]

[damn this is maybe 10x less dangerous than Okuni hoped it'd turn out to be. The voices are at least interesting enough, though she stops paying attention at the sixth "I'm happy to be here" voice she hears.]

Yes, yes, so they were happy. That just makes it creepier that they all disappeared.

[She still has her usual pin stuck in her hair, but she's abandoned her long robe and kimono ensemble for a shorter dress. after a moment or two, she turns to the nearest person and splashes water at them....

[Two people can play this game which is why when Okuni looks Shiho up and down? She does exactly the same and makes a skeptical hmmm of her own, adding the raise of one eyebrow.

Never mind that Shiho is the one wearing her The Children uniform with its short skirt, blazer, thigh high socks and military beret. But that thing is waterproof, fireproof, windproof, bulletproof, machine washable and comes with a water purifier in the hat. She blames Kaoru and her need to put her friends in miniskirts for the aesthetic.]

1. Stupid Stand Tricks

[Jotaro tries to be diligent about tracking any changes in the well while they're down there, but even he starts getting bored when nothing happens in those first few hours. After a while, he puts his notebook away and just suddenly, magically has a beer in his hand, because getting buzzed at the bottom of a well is such a good idea. He hasn't completely forgotten his manners, though, so if he notices someone paying attention:]

2. More Stupid Stand Tricks

[Standing around in cold water all night is not pleasant, but Jotaro is also unwilling to leave in case anything happens, so he splits the difference and makes Star Platinum appear solely for the purpose of letting Jotaro sit on his shoulders. It's weird, kind of like being a kid again, but the important thing is his feet get a chance to dry off a little. (He's actually wearing socks for once, what a surprise!)

Star Platinum still has two arms and plenty of strength, but if anyone actually wants to take advantage you have to sweet talk Jotaro first.]

[Connor's perfectly fine standing in water, actually, but the giant purple man that just appeared in the middle of the well is still pretty interesting.]

Excuse me!

[He is talking up at Star Platinum, more than Jotaro.]

I was wondering what sort of person you are, if you don't mind me asking.

[If Jotaro were a different sort of asshole, he'd use this opportunity to speak through Star Platinum's mouth and confuse the shit out of this poor guy. Fortunately, he's not, so even though both he and Star Platinum have their attention focused on Connor, it's Jotaro who does the talking.]

He's a psychic projection. It means he's a part of me.

[Being in close quarters with only a handful of people means that Star Platinum and Jotaro are both incredibly noticeable, especially with the well being so quiet.

Sensing a chance to talk (what else can they do while they wait?), Izuku wades through the water and looks up at the two of them.] Is that... a Stand?

[The designs are different, of course, but the way Star Platinum had appeared, and the otherall appearance, reminds Izuku of Okuyasu's.]

[Someone Jotaro's only just meeting recognizing the nature of his ability used to be a bad sign, and while he's been here long enough to start getting used to all the new kinds of weirdness, Izuku's question reminds him of that time so viscerally that Jotaro turns both his and Star Platinum's gazes on him with the sharpness of a wild animal interrupted. Then Jotaro remembers that everyone here is supposed to be on the same side, and he relaxes.]

Who introduced you? [To the concept, to their own Stand... there's three here right now, and a fourth was here before, so there's options.]

A: Passing the Time

[Connor isn't sure when, if at all, things are supposed to happen, but he's waiting for them quite patiently. It's not like he has anything else to do here in this town right now. Being completely removed from his main goal had been disconcerting at first, but he thinks his systems have begun to adjust to making their own priorities in the meantime.

Like right now. He isn't sure how it happened, but his coin, the one Hank took from him not long before he appeared in the well, suddenly turned back up in the house he was assigned to. While he waits for something to happen, he plays with the coin.

Tossing it side to side at a fast pace. Rolling it back and forth between his knuckles. Spinning it on the pads of his fingers.

It's something easy and precise. It helps him focus.]

B: After the Well

[Connor makes it out, which is good for everyone involved. But he feels strangely... sluggish. Machines like him don't get tired, but sometimes his memory fills up and he starts to process things slower than usual. It's never happened this fast, though - he went from being perfectly functional the day before, to everything going a bit... screwy.

> Warning: Systems malfunctioning.
> Emergency sleep mode activated.]

Sleep... mode...?

[And then just like that he's out: he stops moving completely, his eyes go dim, and the LED on his forehead starts to pulse with a faint blue light.

Maybe someone should wake him up long enough to get back to his place. Or just leave him there - it probably won't bother him to sleep standing up!]

B

[ zelda only barely made it out herself, body completely exhausted and ready to collapse. it's only a matter of pride that she doesn't topple over. she actually approaches connor because she assumes he wouldn't be affected by this spell, given he's inorganic. ]

Connor, do you mind helping me out? [ ... ] Connor?

[ she then steps around him and he's completely motionless, which gives her a fright in its own way. the way his eyes dim is unlike any person and... well that makes sense. it's still unsettling. ]

Hm, Connor... [ she just gives him a shake by his arm because clearly that will work right? she's not a tech master here. ]

[usedlick]

[The shake seems to cause something to happen - though Connor doesn't move, his voice starts to issue out of him as though projected through a speaker. Though it sounds more... robotic, than usual.]

Emergency sleep mode has been activated for this unit. Initiate restart?

[Connor himself doesn't really seem aware any of this is happening.]
