he day is normal. It's a bit chillier than it's been, the nip of fall in the air, but as the new people in the Town settle in... things have gotten peaceful. And yet. When everyone goes out to greet their neighbors, to hug their friends, to shake hands or make eye contact or who knows what -- they'll realize very, very quickly that nothing about today is normal at all, actually. The bald one is the guy my sister let stay in our house because she likes guys with shaved heads! But he's a Soul Reaper, so he's the good guy. [Said begrudgingly.]

The other one is the kind of monster I had to find out exists in my world!

I was all right. Ikkaku really did save me showing up when he did.

That is an odd realm you come from... do you have no powers or weapons of your own?

No! That's the worst part! I got the ability to see things like that without the ability to do anything about it!

[Not that he exactly wants to fight vicious spirits, but a guy needs to be able to at least protect himself!]

And that's the only ability you have, to see strange things?

Endure them, too, I guess. I don't know what to call it. But there was this crazy powerful guy who put my whole town to sleep and I woke up before most everyone else and could stay standing in front of him.

[Still no special magic powers that would let him do anything about it.]

Hmmm... Perhaps under the right circumstances, that could be quite useful.
