t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Of course I am. How did you get to be best friends with a vampire? We’re notorious for… sucking.

That's a long story, my lady. [ AKA he doesn't feel like explaining right now. but: ] Where I'm from, none of those legends about vampires are true.

None of them? Then what’s the point of calling them vampires?

[ she’s in a weird place, with her own curse. of course she hates what her kind does, but she’s also got a strange sense of pride for her own power. humans are weaker. it’s a fact. there’s no sense in debasing herself simply because she was human once, almost 1000 years ago. ]

They're stronger than humans, and they have pointier teeth, not to mention their own culture. Unfortunately, people tend to dislike those that are different, and that's how stories like that got spread so far.

[ he knows better, but he's sure plenty of people actually believe them. ]

You're not the only vampire here who's got all the bells and whistles, though.

[regrede]

That’s what I understand.

[ sierra regards him for a moment, and all that he’s said. ]

It was nice of you to take a chance on one of us, even if we aren’t nearly as dangerous in the place you come from. Good work.

[ ah. that makes him feel a little bad for the judging he's been doing in his mind. He shakes his head at once, dismissing the thanks. ]

It wasn't any work at all. He's just a normal guy. I never believed in any of that nonsense for a second.
