Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Meanwhile, the current characters have some new gifts.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, and have fun! Thank you!

[can't believe i named this cat bianca and then immediately found out about the pjo one SORRY GUYS,

anyway, Ryan listens attentively to all of that, though the last bit definitely catches his attention more than the rest.]

The town's happy with you...? As in it literally has some kind of mind of its own, or is this some kind of correlation thing? Same thing with the forest, actually.

[The idea of a place with some kind of sentience should, by all rights, be concerning-- but he just sounds absolutely fascinated.]

Yeah, the first one. I didn't exactly believe it at first either but I've been here long enough to realize certain things around the town respond to certain things that we do. The forest will do what it wants to do, the ocean will do what it wants to do...the town will give or take away color based on what things happen here...stuff like that.

Not sure who thought it'd be a good idea to give a town sentience, but here we are.

I mean, nobody necessarily had to do it. I've never heard of anything like it happening for real, but there are concepts of like-- things and places coming to have their own sorts of spirits, if they're around for long enough. Taking on their own kind of life without anyone needing to do anything.

Still pretty likely that there's some kind of interference involved, if you ask me, but I'd be equally unsurprised to find out it just happened to become that way.

Like maybe it was abandoned long enough that it became self-sufficient until everybody else showed up? [What a weird concept.] The only reason I'd doubt it is because someone talks to us every month and seems to be tracking our progress with stuff. Nobody's ever met the guy though.
