Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

Thank you for your kind leniency over my pronunciation. However I "want" to call you in the way I consider proper: by your family name. Foreigners commonly use the family name second, don't they?
As for details about this place, you will undoubtedly find out everything quickly enough. I will give you some warnings immediately, though. Eat the food that has colour. Do not go into the forest alone. And be cautious, for the town has some means of entering our mind and making real our thoughts. The latter does not happen often, thankfully, but that it happens at all makes it worth being aware of.

[For once he actually looks a little alarmed at that thought, suddenly all too conscious of his own thoughts. If there's a way to make those real, or let other people know them or something, then-- oh, god, he'd die of embarrassment within an hour, he knows it. Don't think anything embarrassing, don't do it.
Okay. Different topic. That'll be easier, he thinks.]
I-- I'll watch out for that, then. And the forest. Everyone keeps bringing up the forest, is it honestly that bad...?
[It kind of just makes him want to see it even more, unfortunately.]

But he wants to reassure Farrow-dono, as he clearly looked alarmed over it.]
Do not worry overmuch. As I said, it does not often happen. And everyone will surely help you if that time comes.
As for the forest, yes, it doubtless as bad as you have heard. Strange, disturbing, and dangerous things happen there. Although the forest is also important for us continuing to complete the quests Mr. White gives, it needs to be approached with due caution.

[That comes with a slightly softer smile; that's not something he's really used to. He sort of expected it to be a lot more difficult to deal with people here, so getting the opposite...? It's a better welcome to this place than he thought, with just a couple of exceptions.]
Does anyone ever go to the forest outside of the whole quest business, though? I mean, nothing wrong with avoiding it unless you have to go, but-- it sounds like it's worth trying to learn more about.

To the question he rubs at the side of his cheek thoughtfully for a moment, nodding.]
Yes, there are those who have gone in to explore further, myself included. What is found varies considerably, however. Some have received information that may be clues about what happened to this place. My team encountered a fiend that very nearly killed us all. Other times, you can venture there with relatively little incident.
If you are interested in it, I would recommend that you speak to Ichinose-dono. He coordinates the Defence Force for the town, and he could possibly give you more information about what other people found, or even assign you to a group if you wish. You need not be capable in combat to join the Force.

[It takes a moment for recognition to sink in, but Ryan brightens when he realizes he does know the name-- and then it fades just as quickly as he reaches up to adjust his glasses, clearing his throat quietly.]
We, um, we've met. He's already lectured me and everything-- is he just always like that or did I catch him in a bad mood or something?
[He seems like he might just be the type; it's a little intimidating, honestly.
no subject
I would say he's very strict about the safety of the people here. Perhaps that strictness makes him look severe, but he's not a bad guy.
I hope his lecture was helpful, at least?
