t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hold on. Are you eating the fish or drinking their blood? Or both. I mean there's no judgment here but that's two different things.

[promissum]

I drink the blood and eat the fish. I need blood but I also need the nutrients that are stored in the rest of the fish's body.

[hydrokinetics]

So...you're a health-conscious vampire. [That's new.] Is that a normal thing where you're from?

[promissum]

No. None of the other vampires I know have vowed against drinking human blood. Human blood contains everything we need on its own.

[hydrokinetics]

[The plot thickens...] So why vow against human blood? You wouldn't be the first vampire to show up here.

[promissum]

[He kind of gives Percy a look like "Why should anybody else be bound by my personal choices?"]

I haven't completed a promise. I won't be able to complete it here.

[hydrokinetics]

But how do you know? [Sorry he's going to ask a bunch of questions suddenly.]

[promissum]

I doubt the angel is here.

[Val. Just say her name.]

[hydrokinetics]

Angels and vampires. [There's a slow nod.] Sure, makes sense. But can you really be sure she's not here?

[Assuming this angel is a she, really.]

[promissum]

She wasn't in the well. I suppose she could've arrived before me.

Have you met a pink haired angel? She answers to Vulcanus or Artina.

[hydrokinetics]

Uh. I don't think so, but I haven't looked very far today. What exactly does an angel look like in this instance?

[promissum]

She has small white wings and braided pink hair.

It's possible she looked like a prinny but all her "dood" placement was awkward. She does a terrible impression.

[hydrokinetics]

Hard to miss then. If I see her, I'll send her straight to you. [...] What'd you say your name was?

[promissum]

My name is Valvatorez.

[hydrokinetics]

[...why does that sound like a stupid nickname Leo would come up with?]

Percy Jackson. Good to meet you. [He thinks...]

Oh, so you're son of fishermen? Nico mentioned you.

[hydrokinetics]

Is that what he told you? [He raises an eyebrow, not at all surprised. Demigods usually don't go around outing each other, so that sort of cover story adds up. He's about to comment on it when his brain catches up though.]

Wait. Nico told you that. Nico, like...about this tall--[A gesture to Nico's height]--dark hair, sort of looks like he's been sleeping in a cave for the last seventy years?

[promissum]

He said you were a fisherman by blood.

Yes. We had an interesting discussion about different afterlives. He called it the Underworld like you did. ... He did look like he could use some rest.

[hydrokinetics]

He's not wrong, exactly. [Poseidon is...technically...a fisherman. And he talks to fish, so?? Sure.]

He called it the Underworld because that's what it's called where we're from. The Underworld, and there are different parts of the Underworld. Nico knows how to navigate a little better than I do.

[Likewise, he won't exactly elaborate on what Nico knows.] He must have just shown up. [...that's awkward.]

[ Percy is now "fisherman" to him until further notice. Good job. ]

Yes, he said he was essentially a prince of the Underworld. His father is the ruler there. Where I'm from he'd be a demon, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

[hydrokinetics]

You haven't seen him when he's angry. [Dryly. But he can't say any of that's false. That's interesting.] ...what else did Nico tell you?

[promissum]

He's a demigod and sinners get punished for eternity. I don't approve, there's only so much space.

[hydrokinetics]

Our Underworld's pretty spacious actually. Three different places and souls are sorted at the door. The Fields of Punishment have plenty of room for people. [There's a hum though.] Surprised he told you he was a demigod.

[promissum]

Is it not something you'll normally bring up?

[hydrokinetics]

Nope. Most mortals wouldn't understand it even if it was explained to them and it's just easier so people aren't put in danger more than necessary.
