Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

The climbing, itself, doesn't take long - indentations within the wall made from previous people trapped make the trip up much quicker. ]
Okay, don't get offended or anything when I ask this, [ Her head pops over the top of the well into view, after a minute or so of climbing over and onto dry land. ] but how much do you weigh?
no subject
167.8 pounds. I'm made to be lightweight.
[In comparison to older models and other robots, anyway. And most actual human men his size.]
no subject
...If he is a robot. ]
Then don't break this!
[ Lottie tosses down one end of some rope - long enough to reach those trapped at the bottom of the well. She doesn't bother to mention how she found it, or that some kindly people already secured the other end to something sturdy nearby for this very purpose. ]
Tie my bag to the end of that, then hurry up out of there, okay?
no subject
Secure the bag to the rope.]
Alright!
[He does so quickly, testing it to make sure it's going to hold. Then he turns back to the rope.
>Climb the rope.
Up he comes!]
no subject
Or two. She's severely underestimated how much strength it'd take to be useful in this situation. ] Thanks. [ It's said only after she's wiped some stray sweat off her face.
She then experimentally tugs on the rope, visibly pleased to see he did what she asked. While, simultaneously, hating the effort she's using right now to pull it. ]
I got some towels in my bag if you want to dry off? You know, if being wet bothers you.
no subject
Without offering, he reaches over to help her pull the bag up. He's not much stronger than the average human man, but it's still strong enough to lug a suitcase.]
I can't feel it, but thank you for your concern. I'll dry in time; use the towels on yourself.
[Though... he is wondering what all she has packed.]
no subject
Well.. The offer's there if you decide you want to use it later, or something.
[ The suitcase is only dripping by the time they haul it over and onto the ground. She kneels down, zipping it open to lay it flat. She has to dig through various articles of clothing and shoes, even a stray laptop, to finally dig out a hot pink towel.
And a pair of fluffy sandals. ]
Oh, yeah, I'll give you back your jacket in a sec.
no subject
So he quietly watches her rummage in her suitcase. Ah right, his jacket. He'll have to wait here for it.]
Take your time.
[He's curious about this place and ready to start looking for clues, but for now he can wait.]
no subject
She unzips her soggy boots to slip into the new ones she grabbed, the old pair set onto the towel before she stands. Even if he tells her to take her time, it's still apparent she's trying to do this quickly without it being too obvious. She doesn't want this exchange to turn too awkward (the potential is high with Lottie in the mix), after all. ]
Here. [ She unwraps his jacket off her waist to pass it to him. There's a clear wince at the sight of the wrinkles of the fabric in her hand. ] The LEDs won't stop working even if it's messed up like this, right?
no subject
[He looks it over, just in case, but all seems well. The jacket is pretty waterproof too, so he can walk in the rain or enter water without messing it up.]
It's as good as can be expected after a dunk in a well. [He slides it back on, even though it's wet. He really can't feel it, after all, and he's not supposed to have the jacket off.]
no subject
Oh, really? [ Better than everything else that's happened in the last fifteen minutes, at least. ] I don't know how those things work exactly, so.. That's good. [ Lottie, at least, has the decency to hide the cringe she feels at her own eloquent choice of words from sight.
She crosses her arms, letting her nails press against her skin. ]
..And that's the same with the one on your head, right?
no subject
[He taps it, but it's blue right now.]
Right now it's functioning as expected, as am I.
[It would take a lot more water than that to damage him.]
no subject
Functioning. Well, I sure hope it does. [ Body mod or not, she guesses, money still went into it one way or another. ] Listen, remember how I said we can have that talk later? Just, uh, forget it. It's cool.
You can go help.. other people, or whatever you wanna do really.
no subject
[He's not sure why she doesn't want to have that talk now, but maybe he already cleared it all up? Or maybe she's just uncomfortable around androids. It's not like it's the first time he's run into those kinds of attitudes.
It's... unhelpful. But it's not like there's much he can do about it.]
Will you be alright?
no subject
[ By ''figure all that junk out'', she means an ugly cry. Now? Mascara completely untouched, but ready to be destroyed the moment he leaves and she's by herself. No use in prolonging the inevitable, as they say.
At his question, Lottie actually looks off to the side, in deep thought. ]
... Probably?? [ Her response does not inspire confidence. But she has at least, like, two bags of Hot Cheetos - if that isn't surviving she doesn't know what is. ] I mean, as alright as anyone would be in this situation.. Y'know?
no subject
I believe I mentioned it before [But only in passing, which is why he brings it up again.], but my name is Connor. If you need anything else, you can find me and I'll try to help, as long as we're here.
[Once they're all back where they need to be it's back to deviant hunting for him.
He tries to smile reassuringly. It's good enough, if a little artificial.]
no subject
I'm Lottie Person. [ Robodude? Wellguy? As Lottie brainstorms, she gives him her own smile in return after his. The action, itself, catches her off guard, so instead of being refreshing.. her smile is more awkward. ] Yeah, I will, don't worry! We'll probably run into each other at some point.. This place can't be that big, right?
[ There's a small laugh after that as a buffer to make things less painful on her end. She definitely hopes this place isn't that big. ]
Hey, uh, if you ever figure out any working wifi, could you let me know somehow? I wanna at least try and use my phone once before it dies.
no subject
If she forgets his name, well, that's alright. He can always remind her...]
If I'm able to connect, I'll let you know. [It would be useful for everyone to have more points of contact, after all.] Hopefully, we won't be here long.
[A poor, naive man.]
Then I'll be going. Please be careful, Miss Person.
