Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Meanwhile, the current characters have some new gifts.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, and have fun! Thank you!

fivefingerdeathpunch: Jotaro paying attention (tell me your Columbo fan theories)

[He probably hasn't heard it specifically yet, but he had his suspicions after meeting Giorno and this lends them weight, and he turns to look at her again.]

It's still a few years ahead of you, if you make it back there. [Which is probably not good to tell her, pop culture time travel theories being what they are, but fuck it.] I'm from 1988, so it's ancient history. You probably don't wanna talk about wars, though, and I don't remember enough of what we learned about it to give you the right info.

[ Just a few years? She's surprised to hear that, but then again, as she remembers that awful museum in Columbia, maybe she shouldn't be. War is... much more common than she had really recognized. But still, a world war? She's curious what could lead to something with that title, and she makes a note to try and figure it out when she returns, but it also occurs to her quickly that she shouldn't have to. She's not going back to 1912 if she has anything to say about it.

But like wars, that's a little too heavy of a topic for a stranger. ]

That's fine. It's not exactly important here anyways. You just get used to people from all kinds of places and times.

[ She shrugs, looks around, then not being sure how to continue the conversation, just offers a bit awkwardly: ]

I... was making lunch when you showed up. It's not great, but it's filling. Do you want some?
fivefingerdeathpunch: just a little smile ('cause I eats a lot of vegetables)

[Well, this place is gonna be wild. Food is a good distraction, though--teenage boys eat a lot, big teenage boys eat even more, and Jotaro hasn't eaten since before he arrived, so now that he remembers to think about it he feels like he's starving.]

Lunch sounds good.

[And now they are roomies.]

[ She smiles a little, since serious conversation aside, he's, uh. Kind of intimidating. Even though she'd offered, she wasn't really sure he was going to accept, so it helps her relax a little. ]

It's a simple soup, and it might not taste like what you expect, by the way...

[ She starts to explain as she beckons for him to follow her towards the kitchen ]

There's food here, so we're not starving, but anything that doesn't have color, well... It tastes like nothing.
