Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Meanwhile, the current characters have some new gifts.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, and have fun! Thank you!

[Bedtimes and... bread? Mogget could snort, honestly, but he somehow manages to keep his humor in check. Many of the adult humans he's served over the centuries wouldn't last a day without a gaggle of servants tending to their every need, so he's willing to admit that Jon is... sensible. Maybe.]

No bread? A veritable tragedy. But if I should ever come across a loaf, perhaps I will keep you and your friend in mind. [A sniff.] I much prefer meat, anyway.

[IT'S... the best way he knows how to thank this kid?]

( growing up on a farm does that to a boy. especially a boy with parents who made sure their child would grow up to be resourceful and self-reliant, but not--too self-reliant. he takes mogget's response positively, giving a bright smile and a short nod of his head. )

Oh, that'd be great! Thank you so much, Mr. Mogget. ( which times in just perfectly with approaching the boathouse. there's a raft that would take them over to it (a short way off the deck, not too far), but jon skips that and instead takes a bit of a leap to get himself started, flying across to the boat and landing gently just in front of the door. ) So this's our boathouse, it's super sturdy and nice.

[The second that Mogget realizes what Jon is planning to do, he tenses right the heck up. That distance looks far too wide for him to jump! Obviously he's planning to just, like, dive into the water while holding a cat, because haha, isn't that hilarious? Isn't that the best prank of all time???

Except that... doesn't happen, of course, and he can't help but to feel relief when Jon's feet touch down on the nice, solid deck. He's too old for this! He's way too old for this!
]

Thank the Charter for that. We shall see if the interior measures up to this sterling endorsement.

[That comes out a bit more cross than he'd wanted it to, but he's not about to apologize for it as he looks around. A boat is a boat, he thinks, and he has something else on his mind.]

That... leap of yours. [He sits up straighter in Jon's arms, peering closely at the bot's face.] How did you accomplish such a thing? I sensed no magic.

I'm Kryptonian. ( he says simply, as if that'll make everything make sense. ) So I can fly and I'm super strong and stuff.

( there's a loose lift of jon's shoulders before he's taking mogget deep inside. there's another cat they pass by--a short hair tuxedo, who pays them no mind as they enter. alfred the cat is great, used to strange stuff happening all the time. passing through the living room, they go right by krypto, too: a large, white dog who seems to be having the time of his life rolling around against some blankets piled on top of the couch. jon gives him a quiet "hey, krypto!" in greeting before passing him up, too.

and takes mogget right into the tiny nook of a bedroom, grabbing a makeshift brush off the top of a stand and a towel off a chair before sitting himself down with the cat still on his lap. )

Let's get you cleaned up.
