Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! | |
t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

[He grins a bit at the joke, even if it is at his own expense, before becoming a little more serious again.]
I'd been looking for you, so I'm glad you found me. This is the place I've been assigned to... Is it okay if we talk in here for a while?
[He jerks a thumb to the cottage behind him. Hopefully no one is living there already, so they can talk in private.]

Of course it's okay! [Oops, that was a bit loud, but All Might's probably used to Izuku's often sporadic behaviour by now. Sheepishly, he rubs at the back of his neck.] You've been looking for me?

Yeah. I just got here, but I heard from a few people that you'd been around a while. [And that everyone and their dog already knew who All Might was because of Izuku's fanboying, which was really kind of endearing. That aside...]
I know Aizawa-sensei has been here for you too, but as your teacher, I still can't help but worry. So let's talk, and you can get me up to speed on what I've missed.

[Shuffling his feet, Izuku waits for All Might to go inside first before following him. This is the most words he's exchanged with All Might in months and Izuku's getting the feeling that maybe, just maybe, he might've been mistaken about his original impression.]
U-um, what did you want to talk about? It sounds like you've already gotten filled in by some of the people around here.

[He leads the way inside, pausing to look around the interior of the cottage, and coughs in surprise at the appalling state of disrepair everything seems to be in.]
What a mess...! Guess it was too much to ask for them to give us homes in good condition. [There's a dusty set of table and chairs that look usable, so he gingerly takes a seat, wiping his mouth and turning his attention back to Izuku.] Anyway -- I'll deal with this later. I want you to tell me how you've been doing, all these months.

[Then, he pauses, eyes wide. Oh. None of the illusions had ever lasted this long, and he'd never been clear-headed during those visions, either. Then, new comers had shown up earlier, too...] You're... you're really here.

[Maybe some dramatics would convince him! ... Even if he looks a little ragged after transforming; he's already been in muscle form for a long time today and is approaching his limit, but he has that big grin on his face just the same as always.]

I can see that! [Now Izuku tears up, like All Might must've expected he would since the beginning, though he's smiling as he does so.] It's...really good to see you.

[All Might spots those tears, and, compared to the deafening yelling and theatrics of just a second ago, he reaches to pull him into a gentle hug.]
It's good to see you too, my boy. Sorry I didn't come sooner. [Even if it couldn't be helped, he knows that for Izuku, they'd been apart for far too long. He can only imagine how much this means to him.]

It's not your fault, All Might. This place... no one's figured out how to get in and out of it yet. [It's not as if he's been wanting for comfort since he got here, but it's All Might. Izuku can't help but cling a little when this is the longest they've gone being separated.] You're here now...that's what matters in the end, right?

But there's no use in dwelling on the past, when what Izuku needs is reassurance. He pulls back, then, just enough to offer a bright grin.]
Though even before I was here, I was still with you. Why? [He pokes him in the chest, tone more lighthearted now.] Because you have One for All! No obstacle can break a bond like that.

Oh.. I...I never thought of it that way. [Izuku breathes out quietly, staring up at All Might with wide eyes. His hand drifts up to grip at his shirt, right over his heart.] You said once that each wielder of One for All leaves an imprint behind...so that means I'm carrying something of you in here, doesn't it?

That's right, my boy. So don't forget it. Even if something separates us here, that's something no one else can take away. [... Oh, but he sounds like he's wrapping around dangerously close to just being depressing instead of encouraging, doesn't he? So he tries to smile weakly again, patting Izuku on the shoulder.]
--Not that I'd let that happen any time soon, of course! We still have a lot of catching up to do, including on your training!

[Actually, scratch that, there's several things that strike Izuku as odd, now that he's shaken himself out of his confused daze and really focused on All Might.
...his mentor's been in this form for a pretty long time now, hasn't he? Izuku's brows crease with worry and he gives All Might a once over.]
Um, All Might? I know you were changing into this form to convince me, but it's okay now! It's costing you a lot to hold it this long, right?

I only used my muscle form for a minute or two just now! There's no need to fuss like that...!
[True, he'd used it a lot earlier when he was helping everyone out of the well and exploring the town, but even so! A brief transformation on top of that isn't so harmful, nor is hugging someone exactly strenuous.]

Only a minute or two? He's not wrong, exactly, but All Might...All Might shouldn't be able to stay in his muscle form at all like this.
That's when it hits him; This isn't the first time that timelines haven't matched up. Could it be...? It's the only explanation for All Might being able to use his quirk like this, and Izuku feels...conflicted. While he's happy to see All Might in technically better health, and still able to work as a hero, it's a little heartbreaking to know what awaits his hero in the future.
There's no hiding the way his eyes widen with sudden understanding, so Izuku ducks his head slightly to hide his expression.]
I...I guess you're right!! You know me, All Might. I just worry a lot. Um, just wondering, how's everything back home?

The same as usual. In fact, none of you are missing back home, and it's like none of this was happening at all. The last time I saw you, it was to escort both you and young Bakugo to see Recovery Girl after your practical exam.
[And he got a good scolding from Chiyo as usual, though he doesn't regret it. Izuku and Bakugo gave as good as they got, and the memory of it makes him rub his cheek sheepishly.]

That's what Aizawa-sensei said, too. That he didn't notice we were missing. [His voice wavers just a little, but Izuku still avoids All Might's gaze, afraid of what All Might would see in his.]

It's...the way time works. [Izuku manages to say, trying not to think about how uncomfortable it is to hide something like this from All Might.] It's unsettling to know that no one back home knows what's going on, or that we're even missing.

You've probably been told about the quests and the color changes already--I've been taking part of those and trying to help restore the color around town if I can. There's still not a lot of information to go on, but I've been trying to keep track of any data I can get, too.

What kind of data is that? [Nothing as detailed as his hero fanboy notes, he imagines, if information here is really that scarce, but he also knows how resourceful Izuku can be when it comes to collecting information.]
