t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ That? That thing he brought up? Way more important than stupid Pokemon. This will make or break her day. Lottie finally approaches him, closing their distance, with a sense of pure urgency on her face. ]

I've been using my phone on and off since I got out of that stupid well.. Are you saying what I think you're saying? That I can't charge my stuff??

[retrobeats]

[ whoa, that was kinda sudden...! Michael takes one reflexive step back, blinking, before recovering the next moment and nodding. ]

That's-- about the size of it, yeah. I mean, there's maybe one or two outlets around in some of the buildings, and the weird magical laptops have charge ports, but none of 'em work. Trust me, me and my roomie tried.

[ What.. No... Lottie puts a hand to her mouth in shock. ]

You can't charge it through the laptop?? That's.. That's the most messed up thing I've ever heard in my life. Do the outlets you guys found even work?

[retrobeats]

Ugh, I wish.

[ he pulls a face, because he totally Gets that reaction. people from early 21st-century-Earth levels of stuff just aren't built for this place. ]

Everything here is on like, medieval levels of tech? So I mean, it's a steep adjustment curve to climb, not gonna lie.

Like, the olden times? That medieval? But.. But I need my phone!

[ Lottie's hand moves to grab at it from her person, staring down at the screen in fear. ]

And no one has thought to make anything that could keep the battery up? Literally no one?

[retrobeats]

Yyyeah see, that's the thing, we've kinda all had other stuff to think about. Not to mention how there's no wifi or signal or anything. [ he finishes detangling his headphone cord, finally, and tucks the end into his pocket with a shrug, rocking back on his heels a little. ] I dunno, there's people that can do magic here, maybe you can ask around once you've found where your place is at.

[ personally, Michael's still waiting for someone to reinvent indoor plumbing, but he'll maybe wait for her to be sitting down or something before he brings that one up. ]

[ She figured that out in the well the moment she tried calling the police, so the mention of no wifi or signal does not shock her as much as there being no way to charge her phone. ]

Other stuff like what?

[ Lottie is going to pointedly ignore the offer about magic - mostly because she's not even taking him seriously about that. ]

It can't be more important than basic communication?

[ hm. okay, yeah, she's definitely gonna need a seat handy for the rest of the Chroma bombshells, huh. ]
