t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [THE OLD WAS UNNEEDED, but anyway she had to say that. That is her Brand. She looks at Reim like she can’t believe he’s a great big unbeliever when he just woke up in a well a few hours earlier.]

What kind of place are you from that waking up in wells is normal, but mutant bears aren’t?

Well, most places have wells, and I've never heard of any that has mutant bears. Therefore... [He sort of gestures with one hand, like, clearly that means it's more likely that one would wake up in a well than see a mutant bear.

Yes, but those places don't have complete strangers from other worlds waking up in their wells, do they!

[REIM IS WRONG!!!! or maybe reim is from a place where that exact thing happens...]

Anyway, if you really can't trust what I say, then you can go ahead into the forest to see for yourself! Or ask Ichi-chan or Lu-chan, since they were there fighting those bears with me.

It's more likely... [No this has never happened, but would he be surprised if it did? Considering his social circle, not at all. One of them would surely wake up in a well one day, somewhere else. Or just throw someone down one-!!

Guren's an aggravating man who thinks taking care of people matters more than taking care of himself. If you stick near the forest for another hour, then he'll come running out to babysit you. Oh, and he's the captain of the defense force here, I guess. [but that's not important]

And Lupin is a very charming gentleman who's also a troublemaker, but a much better kind than Guren. He can't fight at all and he dresses like you, so maybe you'll have more in common with him?

[reim has bandages, he's probably a dweeb]

Oh, the mouthy young man. [Look..... Guren helped him, sort of, but he also has an attitude and judged Reim for being scared of a squirrel. It's fine. He means this with the utmost respect.

I have a good eye for helpless scholar types who go around writing things down near places where they can get mauled by bears!
