Little Willie, mean as hell, Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ Sinistra is doing really great and being gentle and considerate and quiet, and ordinarily, Kisa would appreciate it.

But she did just fall flat on her face and now there's a strange voice she doesn't know, so she pushes herself up just enough to-- fall backwards instead, one hand drawn defensively to her chest as she stares at him in the manner of a cornered animal.

There's a bit of blood and dirt on her forehead now, but it's hardly worthy panicking over. ]

[bisection]

[ Sinistra can see that she's nervous. He withdraws his hand and sits on the ground instead, to get a little lower. He doesn't want to hover over her.

He remembers being that scared when he was little. ]

It's okay. I won't get closer if you're scared.

[stripedown]

[ She's... definitely scared.

But once he stops moving, Kisa slowly lowers her own hand, staring at him cautiously but with a little less terror.

Well. It's progress. ]

[bisection]

[ Hm... he watches her for a little bit, quiet too but much calmer than she is. She's more like a cornered animal than a person. She's so small, though, and in a new place. He understands.

He makes his voice even softer when he speaks next. ]

Do you have a name?

[stripedown]

[ She does. Explaining it is going to be a problem, and she looks at him uncertainly, before she speaks.

Except no words emerge. Instead, she mouths her name, a little shamefaced.

"Kisa." ]

[bisection]

Oh.

[ so she's silent like his brother. He nods at her, used to this type of communication. ]

Kisa... I am Sinistra. My brother is like you. He also has no voice. Or do you not like to use your voice?

[stripedown]

[ To that, she slowly nods.

Not when other people so clearly hated it and mocked it. Right now, she's starting to forget what it sounds like, but it's still too painful to try and bring it to the front. ]

[bisection]

That's okay.

[ If she doesn't want to speak or doesn't like it, it's not a big deal. He doesn't think so. His brother is just fine and he doesn't speak anymore. Not a big deal, right? ]

Do you want me to leave now?

[ She still looks so uncomfortable. He doesn't want to overstay his welcome here. ]

[stripedown]

[ After a long pause, she shakes her head-- a minimal motion, but right now, having someone close is better than being alone. Even when she's scared. Maybe because she's scared. ]

[bisection]

[ Ah, so she's ok with him after all. He nods slowly. ]
