Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

[Lord, help him. Guide him in trying to not be the shittiest sort of role models and father figures for impressionable youths.]

It isn't necessarily about being strong. [Yuu has a lot of energy and bounds ahead, but Sasuke... takes his time like an old man. He'll get there, listen. He's patient.] It won't be easy or quick.

But it'll show me you're ready.

[From somewhere beneath the cloak, Sasuke pulls out one of the starred shuriken and shows it to Yuu by flipping it back and forth once or twice between two fingers.]

The man you're here with, the one you called family. I'm going to give this to him. You have to take it and bring it back to me. If you think you can.

I can do that.

( sounds easy even if it's really time consuming. he'll have to wait for sasuke to find guren, to chase him down, wrestle him onto the ground and take it off of him, but that's manageable. he's sure. )

That's a throwing star, right? Can I see one?

( he wants to throw the pointy thing. )

Alright. The next time you see him, he should have it, and you can begin.

[Later, he tells Guren he wouldn't just throw the shuriken at anyone... but Yuu isn't the kind of person who is only anymore. Normal. It should be fine, right? Don't kill him.]

Catch.

[He doesn't throw the shuriken with as much speed and force as he does in battle, but he does throw it. Directly at Yuu, head-on, without any kind of flashy curves or rebounds.

He's hoping Yuu can catch it. If he does, it is, in fact, a simple throwing star. Have fun, soft child.]

( his eyes follow it despite the fast speed the shuriken's thrown at, tracking it as it heads towards him and easily catching it with his index finger within the circle at the center. )

Oh! Cool. ( yes hold on, he has to spin it around his finger for a while for prosperity's sake before he bothers tossing it straight up, catching it, and throwing it straight for a nearby tree.

all while his laptop remains tucked safe under his free arm. )

[Well, well. Yuu is a nonchalant dumbass, but the simple reaction tells Sasuke a lot about the boy's abilities and power. Strong and stupid. He can see why Guren takes a lot of interest regardless of whether or not they consider each other family.

Yuu is easy to move on the chess board.] Not bad. [He peers across to the tree where the shuriken is imbedded. His right arm lifts, hand raised. The rinnegan is visible through thick parts in his hair when he tips his head back.

The shuriken comes out of the tree with sudden force, spinning an arc back around the other side of Yuu and heading for Sasuke. He catches it between two fingers, and the arm disappears beneath the cloak.]

( what the hell!! eyes widen as he watches sasuke. . stare at the shuriken, and turns his eyes to follow his line of sight only for it to fly it's way out of the tree. that definitely doesn't seem. possible. at all. eyes widen as he follows it's path back into this dude's hand, and under the cloak. )

How'd you do that?!

( that's not normal. he's seen illusionists at work, seen magic, but nothing quite like that. )

[At an easy gait, Sasuke closes the distance between them as if he's continuing to walk, but he stops when he gets to Yuu. The boy had been the one leading anyway, so it's only fair not to take over.

He peers down; the strange left eye hasn't disappeared,standing out, soft purple from end to end broken up by several circles. It doesn't seem like Sasuke is able to make it normal.] It's a ninja eye technique.

One of the Six Paths. [It does require a good bit of energy, but one simple shuriken didn't tire him out completely.]

Oh.

( with a curious look to sasuke's eye when he gets close, leaning in as best as he can without. getting too much into his space. yuu knows about different eyes, his own shift and change when his seraph takes over, or when his demon does. but definitely not like that. )

Can you teach me?

I don't know. [He doesn't mind the inspection. Visually, there's not anything special about the eye except how strange it looks. Purple, rings of circles, and tomoe, six usualy, but five now after pulling the shuriken.] The rinnegan is -- kekkei genkai, something inherited almost. Receiving the chakra of a Sage is how I came to have it.

But it's still a dojutsu, an eye technique. If you can take my eye, you can have its power when you implant it in your own.

[Spooky.]

My eye exploded once and it just regrew, I don't think I'd have the time to put yours in even if I wanted to.

( but on the plus side of that--he does raise a hand up, covers his left eyelid with an index and middle finger. )

But if anyone steals yours, I can probably just yank one out? I don't really know how that works, but.

[Ah. Too pure...]

Your eyes are special. [Don't steal your sibling's eyeballs because you want to become stronger without repercussions... Or, you know, get the eyeballs of your dying friends as a parting gift. Don't become a Uchiha, Yuu.] You should keep them the best you can.

There are other techniques you may be able to learn. You have to get my shuriken back from Ichinose first, though.

My eyes aren't really special. My whole body's kind of like that. Punch through it and it'll just. . regrow. My heart got punched out once.

( granted he can't remember much of that. the human part of him detests the memories of the demon, the seraph is a complicated mess and yuu doesn't get it. it's fine. he doesn't need to. )

I'll get it back from him in no time.

( for now, he--starts walking off in some random assed direction. maybe guren's house is this way. )

[Yuu is such a weird, strange boy. Getting punched through the heart... Geez.]

You sound a little too reckless. [Yuu goes, and Sasuke follows, though he's aware it doesn't seem as if Yuu knows where they're going.] Someone as young as you with so much power should be more careful.

[He's talking to a wall, though, isn't he? Just like Naruto.]

When did you get your partner? The demon.

I'm not young, I'm sixteen. ( nts: sasuke is a second guren, probably stop telling him so much so he will stop berating yuu for being yuu. he even ruffled his hair. . the pieces are all falling into place now.

whatever, he's looking around. one day eventually they'll find where they're going. probably back to guren's now that he has his stuff?? who knows. it's an adventure. )

Uh, I don't remember? ( there are so many holes in his memory. he remembers getting ashura, remembers bonding with him and all that but time's weird when he looses bits and pieces of memory every time the demon and the seraph take over. ) Less than a year ago.

[The fussiness about age gets a very tiny smile out of him, but he makes sure it's gone by the time Yuu ever looks at him again. When he was sixteen, he didn't think he was young either.]

It explains the recklessness. [Sasuke is such a chill dude to be told all of this. Thanks, fantasy ninja Japan.] The loser I told you about, the one who wouldn't let me become a monster.

He has something like a demon inside of him, too. A Tailed Beast.

Oh, cool. Did he befriend them, too? Talk to them a lot?

( talking to your demons is very important, it helps keep that bond strong. yuu spaces out a lot of the time, falls back into his own head and has conversations with ashura. he's pretty okay. )

Did they get along?

[Hm. Hopefully Kurama can't curse him on another plane.]

In a way, I guess you could say he did. [Hilarious to consider; Kurama would die knowing someone asked if he and Naruto were friends.] He was an outcast in our village when he was a boy because of it.

Everyone knew one of the Tailed Beasts had been sealed inside of him, but he didn't. No one told him. [No thanks to Sasuke's own clan, basically... In a way, their destinies were always intertwined, wasn't it?] Everyone avoided him because they were afraid, so he was always being a moron for attention.

They don't always get along, but they've learned to work together. To coexist.

You don't know where you're going, do you?

That sucks, for your friend.

( but he understands, on a deep and primitive level; yuu himself spent. . a very, very long time being hated. called a monster. left as an outcast, even from his own birth family. especially from them. he can't remember a clear picture of their faces anymore, or even their names, but--the trauma is still there.

there's a shift in his own expression, darker than anything before; lips purse tight, brows furrowing before he--lets that go, too. takes a deep breath in, then out. getting too caught up in stuff that upsets him will only loosen his hold on all the things inside of him, and he can't have that. not now. not when they don't even know how much longer the drugs are going to last. )

I'm adventuring. ( though in a much more solemn tone than before, thanks. ) Sounds like fun, right?

Mm. [Typically, Sasuke is pretty no-nonsense when it comes to working. But here, he lacks a great majority of the fires he had irons in, and so he has some free time to wander aimlessly with Yuu.

Lucky Yuu. Sasuke is continuing to follow, so apparently, Yuu's adventuring doesn't deter him.] Do you plan to stay with your friend?

Ichinose?

Yeah, he's already got a lot of roommates but he said I could just crash in his room. It's not like I really need the space anyway, and that way. .

( just in case he does lose control of his demon, or the seraph--someone who knows how to handle him will be close by. he won't have the opportunity to hurt anyone. that's. pretty important. )

He can make sure everything's going okay.

It's not a bad idea.

[Sticking with friends or family. Being with trusted people. His eye shifts away from the town and to Yuu. The gaze is leveled, but watchful, studying. Sasuke is probably going to get him in trouble for being nosy. But, you know. Ninja and all.

Information is important.]

Is he like you, too? A half-demon?

Uh.

( yes, guren is, but speaking about someone else as openly as he speaks about himself probably isn't a great idea. and it's one thing to tell sasuke how he's a mess, but how guren is? probably not a great idea. )

Guren's different.

Is he now?

[Sasuke's visible eyebrow rises in curiosity, an offer for Yuu to elaborate. Even if Yuu doesn't, there's a strangely knowing look in Sasuke's eye, one that seems to see through some of Yuu's careful dodge without any kind of accusation.

Different, but knowledgeable about Yuu's condition. Funny.]

( it's an opening to keep going on how he's different, and yuu's almost tempted to just start running his mouth, again. but he--doesn't. gives a shake of his head instead. )

Guren has a demon but he's not a seraph so he's different. And he's really smart, too. If anything starts to happen with me, he can fix it.

[Even trying not to tell everything, Yuu inadvertently tells everything--sort of. Sasuke hasn't ever heard the term seraph used, so he's not exactly sure what Yuu means by it specifically.

But Yuu seems to have an undying loyalty in Guren, and Sasuke can settle with that for now.] "Happen"?

The demon-- [Sasuke's assumption is because he had his own "demon" in a way, a long time ago. A curse.] --does it get out of control?
