t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Good, because you'll be using one from now on. We use it as our main method of communication, and it's where we find the quests. Every month, we are given new quests by an anonymous sources, and fulfilling them rewards us with colors and items.

What do these quests consist of?

The thing is... they vary. A lot.

Sometimes they can be simple and quaint. Make a flower crown, tell a joke, collect some vegetables. Others are... more dangerous, such as hunting monsters within the forest.

[promissum]

I don't know any jokes, but I can certainly go hunt monsters. What kind have you faced so far?

[troubadamsel]

Giant spiders, unicorns, killer vegetables, werewolves, sirens, chimera... just to name a few.

[promissum]

I see. I doubt any of them will be a challenge, but it's good to know what's here.

[troubadamsel]

That's some confidence. What are your skills, exactly?

[aside from the bat... thing.]

I'm a vampire demon, so naturally my skills fall into that. Swords, spears, prinny instruction, draining health from enemies, healing from fighting, causing nightmares, force fields, ice resistance, and transformation.

[troubadamsel]

[Pinching the bridge of her nose. Vampire. Demon. Sure. Sure, why the fuck not at this point.]

That is... Ah. Very. Useful. I'm sure we'll all be grateful to have you here.

... I might regret asking, but what is a "prinny"?

A prinny is a sinful human soul stitched into a penguin-like skin. It's my job to make sure they know proper prinny etiquette and they work hard to repay their sins!

M-Moving on... When you choose the house to live in, you will be assigned one of three colors - red, blue, or yellow. Certain quests require certain people of those colors to complete it.

[promissum]

A... color based housing system? I've never heard of anything like that.

[But he's always going to go along with whatever, so he just nods.]

I haven't heard of quests designed that way either. How has it been working?

[troubadamsel]

Well, for example, it may say "a red must teach a blue a new skill." So whoever is assigned to blue must successfully teach a "blue" a something they haven't done before. Or it might require an all yellow team to hunt down a monster. So, when the quests are given, we all use the computers to discuss who needs what.

[promissum]

They give quests like teaching? It's always good to learn new things. There's even an easy way to organize... That's strange for an abandoned town, but it's useful to have.

[troubadamsel]

Ah, but there's something else. Was this place truly abandoned... or did something happen here?

[promissum]

You've been here longer than I have. What conclusions have you drawn? Are there supplies that should've been taken but were left behind?

If it was a battle, was there any evidence of such?

[troubadamsel]

There were supplies here, in stores, and they were safe enough to eat... sort of. Apparently, when a food loses its color in this world, it will only taste like ash.

[promissum]

If it were truly abandoned, the supplies should've been taken. Unless they were rushed from some reason.

How are sardines? Do they have their color back yet?

[troubadamsel]

I'm not aware of what those are. But we do tend to find new food with finished quests as well, so it might be in the stores, just overlooked.

[promissum]

[GASP.] You don't know?

They're a insignificant creature! Because they're lower on the food chain as compared with other fish, they have less contaminants like as mercury. They're packed full of healthy nutrients like vitamin B-12 and omega three fatty acids!

I highly recommend them!
