Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Meanwhile, the current characters have some new gifts.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, and have fun! Thank you!

[ Elizabeth definitely looks comfortable here, and that's certainly at least 80% because of what she's wearing. While everyone fresh out of the well has their clothing from home, Elizabeth's outfit at the time hadn't exactly been in the best state. So instead, she just tends to wear what she can find in the town, which today, is this. Just, you know, significantly less colorful. She has a bag in hand, clearly on her way somewhere, but when Aigis speaks to her, she stops with a smile. Clearly, she's not in a hurry, at least. ]

...Do you mean you just got here?

[ She has to question that first, since, well. She's not really sure what "transfer student" is supposed to mean... ]

Um, regardless, I can. I hope, anyways.

[ definitely better that elizabeth doesn't understand that particularly Pathetic Excuse, though aigis doesn't really catch onto her confusion. her first observation is that elizabeth seems like a friendly sort--her second is, well, the bag that she's holding.

she was about to answer, but aigis's train of thought seems to visibly derail.

that's an oops. ]

I-- yes. I'm new.

[ then her gaze goes to the bag in elizabeth's hand. ]

... I'm sorry--if I'd seen you were doing errands, I wouldn't have called out to you so suddenly. I don't mean to distract you.

Oh, no—

[ Elizabeth shakes her head and even lifts a hand as if to say that it's no problem with that gesture. ]

I wouldn't even really call it running errands. Usually when new people start showing up, I kind of just... wander around, really. [ She shrugs and laughs a little, though it's sheepish. When she says it out loud, it sounds like a weird thing to do. ] It's the easiest way to find people that might need help. Or just questions answered.

[ well, there's two thoughts the pop up into aigis's mind at elizabeth's explanation. ]

That's kind of you to do.

[ is the first. (no judgement there.)

the second is probably something she should've realized a bit ago, but she's so used to trying to Blend In that. well. it hadn't quite hit her that maybe everyone in the town was brought in the way she was? minus everyone that she originally saw in the well, anyway.

she shifts her weight a bit. ]

Um... Is that something you have to do often? [ ... ] Rather... Is new people showing up a common occurrence here?

[ Elizabeth smiles a little shyly, but it's definitely warm and genuine. She's flattered by the compliment and nods, but doesn't say anything to it. Instead, she'll just keep up that helpfulness! ]

Well... [ She thinks about it, then shrugs a little ] Every few months. Two, I think? We don't have the best ways to keep track of months here, so it's hard to tell.

[ Another little shrug ]

It's regular enough, I guess. Though it's not hard to figure out when it's one of those days, since it's always a little noisier.
