Event Ten.

Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |
ii
[Hunk looks around left and right. On ground level, of course, because naturally one tends to look around at ground level for someone speaking to them... usually. And then he looks up and up, his eyebrows going high.]
Uh. Chroma? But that's the name everyone else kind of voted to give it, who knows what it's actually called.
no subject
[ she’s learned that they’re all strangers to this town, rather than the first wave having built it from the ground up, but in that case—isn’t it just plain rude to overwrite the hard work of the people who were here first?
surely there’s a newspaper somewhere with a name written on it. ]
no subject
I mean. Most of the books around here are fairy tales, and there's not exactly people who used to live here walking out telling us the name of where we are. Or anything else.
[Hunk shrugs, hands upraised.]
no subject
[ she could just try to reanimate one of the dead bodies if she needed to, though it’s not something she’d love to do. ]
no subject
[as you do]
But there really isn't one around here. It's really like everyone just poof up and vanished one day.
no subject
…hm. [ finally, she slips from the roof after putting a cork back in her bottle and tucking it away. no worries about the gravity thing—she nearly floats. ] And none of you fools are worried the same thing will happen to us?
no subject
Lots of thinking about us abruptly vanishing [especially the people he likes here, especially Keith] or being attacked or the planet exploding but there's not a lot to do but take it day by day. Handle it as we can, you know?
no subject
What would you say is the likelihood of the three of those things in order, here? From most to least likely, if you please.
no subject
Being attacked is the most likely. By like werewolves or other things. People vanishing second most likely, it does happen with some people or they turn to stone and planet exploding least likely. That one's, like, a carryover from what I'm used to back home, the thought's kind of always there.
[But last he remembers they kicked some serious alien butt so he hopes, hopes that's not a concern at all. Besides, there's not been so much of a whiff of galra activity here and he would know!!]
no subject
Don’t you think the first two could have the same cause?
no subject
Same cause? I mean, I think it's likely. But if you're talking about attacks or kidnapping by creatures causing people to vanish, I don't know... I feel like we would've noticed that.
Even people who got werewolf-ified got cured by medicine or just on their own.
no subject
[ it’s awfully hopeful, isn’t it? ]
no subject
[Hunk sighs, drumming his forefingers against his arm.] I mean, me and my friend left here. Briefly, as far as time passing here goes but we came right back.
no subject
How generous, to let you out of the cage for a few hours.
no subject
[He spreads his hands apart expressively.] The passage of time was just completely borked. We got back and it was, like, three days went by and it was ages back home.
no subject
[ no two ways about it. she doesn’t like having her timelines messed with—there’s not much going on back home now that the war is over, but she does have mortal friends. ]
We must be gathered for a reason, but I’m not looking forward to finding it out.
no subject
[Hunk isn't a pure optimist so even saying it is tinged with its fair bit of uncertainty but he says it anyway.]
no subject
[ for as much of a downer realist as she’s made herself out to be, sierra smiles just a little at that. ]
In the place I came from, several of us were gathered… some of us fighters, some of us artists, some of us seemingly nothing at all… we were called together by the force of destiny to fight for peace.
[ she shakes her head. ]
Maybe it’s something like that.
no subject
[WITH FEELING. He sort of gets the whole force of destiny even though he's sciencey by nature and is automatically like "ehmmmm" in matters of destiny and magic.]
Man, that's way more common than I thought it was. Me and my friends were sort... of like that. We kind of got picked by giant robot lions rather than anything else.
no subject
[ sierra’s eyes widen slightly. oddly enough, despite her medieval dress, she knows what a robot is, but a robot lion is a little newer to her. ]
How can something manmade have the will to choose you like that?
no subject
[It's difficult to describe, to say the least. Especially since it's all a nebulous, emotional thing.]
They're pretty amazing, actually. They can connect to us in a way? Or we connect to them?
no subject
Do they speak?
no subject
[It's hard to describe and he feels weird describing it because Hunk likes being able to put things into understandable terms.]
no subject
[ she’s amused, though—“empath robot lions” sounds like a doozy, and it’s a lot to hear on her first day in the town, but it’s not like she’s going to get culture shock. she’s lived too long for all that. ]
no subject
[EVER!! But yeah it's hard to put in words so Hunk kind of makes a helpless gesture like I know it sounds weird but I give up.]
