Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

[ sierra pushes the handkerchief away again to get a look at the wound on his cheek. gross, honestly! she prefers the clean satisfaction of a puncture, though she does swipe two fingers across the wound with a sigh. ]

[aaaa why!! Reim watches her like she's actually going to do something that isn't gross, and then she does that gross thing and he snaps his hand back to his face, mouth twisting with a little offense, a little disgust. Ugh.]

Did you even look at it seriously...?

Hm? No. I’m not a doctor. I am a vampire, though, and I can tell you that your blood is of fine quality.

[ is that a compliment or a threat ]

I’d be able to taste it if you were dying.

[Vampires aren't real...!! Ah, but then the alternative is that she's a genuine weirdo, so maybe vampires are real after all. Reim still just looks at her with disapproval before he gives up and sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose with his other hand.]

Alright. Please don't do that again, but thank you, I suppose. Not dying is a relief.

[ disapprove of her all you want, reim, because she’s just going to keep doing exactly the same thing that she’s been doing for the last 800 years. old habits die hard. ]

If it’s any consolation, I don’t want to do it again any more than you want to have it done. [ a pleasant smile. ] My name is Sierra Mikain.

[Is it a consolation! Is it! She did it in the first place, so she's already racked up sooo many gross points. Mercifully, Reim is polite.]

Well... then it's nice to meet you and your unconventional methods, Ms. Mikain. My name is Reim Lunettes.

“Lady Sierra.” [ she gently corrects him, like an asshole. ] You sound important, boy.

[ as long as she has a chance to make sure she gets her due attention here in this town, she’s going to take it. none of the vampire hunters she ran into back at the castle acknowledged her status! please. ]

Lady Sierra, alright. [He's not important, he's just... well he's a little important but he's also the bottom rung in the ladder of his entire social circle back home, so what that means is he's accepting her asshole correction without question. Lady Sierra. Cool, cool cool cool.]

That depends on your definition of "important," doesn't it?

[ what a strange detail to hone in on, but it doesn’t actually change the course of her thoughts. whether he’s just “reim” or “reim lunettes” doesn’t matter to her—he seems like the kind of person she can rely on. ]

How would you like to work for me?

My father is an earl; I'm only the second son, myself, but I've been the personal valet of a Duke since I was very young.

[All of this he just says automatically, because of course he does, it's his fancy pedigree. He supposes this is important enough, but surely not as important as a Lady.

Before I consider it, what does working for you entail, exactly?

[ cool, she’s been living in the woods for a gazillion years so even though she knows what earls and dukes are, she has no idea where they are relative to a king or something. the best way to avoid giving that away is just to not comment on it anymore. ]

Nothing yet, but I plan on helping whip the population here into shape. I’ll need an assistant for that.

[well there's a king in pandora hearts mentioned once and never again so dukes > all else, duh]

I see... [That honestly sounds like a more intense version of what he already wanted to do, so hmm, how many bad decisions should he make in a single day?] Well, I will think about it.

You wouldn’t go without payment, of course.

[ there’s no currency in this town that she can tell, but money isn’t the kind of payment she was thinking of. also, Not Like That. ]

[are you sure it's not lewd. Anyway Reim can tell there's no money in this town so he has to Know.]

What kind of payment? Just saying "payment" is too vague.

I have a few ideas in mind, but that’s something to work out over a contract, isn’t it?

[ now that she’s decided she wants him as her organizer/multi-purpose tool, she’s already making oddly formal plans to get this in writing. whether or not she actually follows the terms of any written contract is yet to be seen. ]

[MULTI-PURPOSE TOOL........... Sadly, writing up a contract deeply appeals to Reim, so he's slightly more amenable to this already. A whole written document!!]
