Little Willie, mean as hell, Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ what a pest.

sierra hates loud sounds, and so she hates everything about this already. being disturbed from her sleep to be insulted and then screamed at is the worst thing she could ever imagine. ]

Stop—shouting!

[ it’s probably counter-productive that she’s still trying to sizzle his feet to get him to stop yelling. ]

[tosa]

("What a pest" thinks the actual winged rodent!!!

She's still trying to shock him and he's basically dancing to make sure he gets out of this with all of his toes.)

Stop doing that!

(No, he's still yelling! You dont get to tell him what to do! You aren't his dad!)

[regrede]

[ honestly, she was trying to get out of this without actually shocking him full-on, but if he won’t listen, then that doesn’t leave her much choice. she stops firing at the ground, but if he thinks that’s a sign she’s stopping, he has a big storm coming. ]

I’ll shut you up if you don’t plan to do it yourself!

[ this time, the crack of lightning that she calls down is enough to darken the air around them with how bright it is—but it’s more like anime lightning than a force of nature. he’ll survive, but it’ll hurt like hell. ]

[tosa]

(How can he listen if you won't give him a chance!!! Just when he thinks he's free and he looks like he's going to relax, the air feels... electric and ominous and he doesn't like it at all,)

What's--

(And he yells! That hurt? What the actual hell that hurt enough to just take the feeling out of him. He feels all tingly and... yeah, he sure is just going to fall on the ground. From the ground, he's making a noise that sounds vaguely like a mumble and a growl,)

The hell was that?!

[regrede]

[ sierra lowers her hand with a sigh, when the air clears—though it’s still tingling with a charge—and then she has the audacity to yawn. it took a lot out of her to do that, when she’s already dealing with waking up in a strange new world. ]

A lesson.

[ she says it through the yawn. ]

I hope you learned something.

[tosa]

( He starts to pick himself. Everything hurts but feels dumb at the same time and he's groggy and slow to recover, )

What're you talking about?

( Answer: he learned nothing )

[regrede]

[ ugh… she has no patience for idiots… rather, there’s a very particular type of idiot that she finds endearing, and he has so far not hit any of the notes that would spare him from her irritation. ]

Have you always been this dense, or is it a recent development?

[tosa]

( He's sitting up now, cross legged on the ground and stretching to try and get the feeling back in his fingers and everything, )

Look. ( This is really informal. ) I'm just saying, here I was minding my own business and suddenly some mad lady falls outta the sky and starts shooting lightning like some crazy spirit! Ya got some way of saying hey!

[regrede]

You most certainly were not minding your own business.

[ she yawns again, covering her mouth. ah… she wants to go back to sleep, but she wants a little bit of blood as well. in reality, she has much longer to go before she needs it, but she doesn’t like depriving herself. ]

Think about what you said.

[tosa]

( He opens his mouth to snap at her because he sure was minding his own business. But he's a good spirit at the center all of this, one who actually listens and does think. So he thinks for a moment, wondering what could have started all of this.

Ah. )

Well, ya aren't fat now.

[regrede]

[ ……………

believe it or not, “grateful” is not the emotion she’s feeling at that response. ]

I’ve decided how you can make amends. Come closer.

[tosa]

[ she’s still smiling? the longer it stays on her face, the more ominous it somehow becomes. ]

[tosa]

( The longer she smiles the more he feels A Fear. He feels cold? What's this chill down his spine........ But okay, what's the worst that can happen? She grabs him by the ear? Whacks him on the head? He's used to being dragged around and beat up!

So... very slowly.... he inches just

little bit

closer.

What's the catch? HE'S READY TO RUN. )

[regrede]

Now give me your hand.

[ she’s still smiling and it is most definitely deadlier with every second. look how kindly she’s holding her palm out, though! just like she’s asking a dog for his paw, even though she hates dogs. ]

[tosa]

( This just makes him more hesitant? STOP SMILING LIKE THAT. Also? Give her?? His hand?? This would be intimate if he wasn't so dang suspect about the whole thing.

He starts to raise his hand and squints suspiciously at her's but

like a good dog, he gives her his hand. )

What're ya up to....

[regrede]

[ good boy! she doesn’t have any treats or snacks for him, and in fact has the worst thing ever planned. although she’s said before that she doesn’t bite people who aren’t willing to be bitten, that isn’t strictly true—she doesn’t turn people into vampires unless they ask, and this is “willing” enough based on the fact she feels like he owes her.

so without hesitation, she lifts his hand—his arm—just enough and sinks her fangs into a vein. ]

[tosa]

( He has absolutely no idea what's going and of all the things he expected, this was not one of them. Before he can even stop her, she's biting down on him and he yells, )

Ow! ( Trying to pull his arm away, ) What the hell? Let go!

( And really, he isn't one to hit a woman because he was raised right and he's definitely not the type to get handsy or anything but this is an exception, right? So with his free hand, he tries to push her away. )

Get your mouth off of me!

[regrede]

sierra is pretty good at getting what she needs quickly, when nash was also especially, unpleasantly squirmy whenever she tried to feed from him, so she pulls back soon enough—apparently completely unbothered by the fact that she’s being pushed.

she sighs, refreshed, and while wiping her mouth with one hand, pushes back with the other. ]

Much better.

[tosa]

( Losing blood is really only just made worse by how worked up he's making himself over all of this. )

Better?

( He could fight her right now! Some lady she is, he'd smack her right-- Oh. He feels lightheaded and dizzy and he staggers in place. Pressing his hand against his arm, he tries to stop the bleeding. If he's like this, he can't be near Ryouma until it's healed! is this what she meant by repaying what he'd done? )

I didn't tell you... you could do that.

( He isn't human so he can handle the blood loss a little better than most. But this body is still basically human so he can't help but feel some of the effects. )

[regrede]

Maybe you didn’t, but now we’re even.

[ this is the worst way to get even, but no matter how mad he might be, she doesn’t feel bad about her obvious wrongdoing. she doesn’t feel bad that he’s woozy, either, but she actually doesn’t want him to fall over. ]

Sit down. You’ll feel better after you rest.

[tosa]

Feels pretty uneven... to me.

( Even if? She's trying to help? He's learned his lesson and he'll never trust her ever again!!! Even if it would be better for him to sit down and rest, he manages to keep himself up out of sheer stubbornness. )

Don't tell me what to do.

[regrede]

[ it’s best not to trust her, anyway, so he learned a useful lesson much earlier than just about anyone else in this town. she never keeps her promises and she talks her way around them even when she does, so she’s the last person that anyone should place their faith in.

[tosa]

( For starters! That's not even going into

1. drinking his blood
2. shocking him with lightning
3. acting like a total jerk???

He's trying to get his thoughts in order so he can really react properly besides just being angry and generally displeased but it's hard enough when he isn't disoriented. He's already someone who becomes overwhelmed with emotions easily, )

Who the hell d'ya think yuo are? Just going around doing what ya want with other people?

I did bite you. You taste like metal.

[ she is… completely and totally unbothered by the fact that he’s mad, which says a lot about her priorities when she was pissed off in the first place that he called her fat! the punishment did not fit the crime, but she’s remorseless. ]

I didn’t take so much that you should pass out, but if you keep running your mouth like that, I’m afraid it’s going to happen anyway.
