Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

'course, that doesn't make the words coming out of this guy's mouth any less strange, at least in the combination they are coming out in. ]
I hate to say it, but you're gonna be waiting super long on that bus or train. You're new here, right? [ pretty obvious? but hey. ] We're a long way away from Earth, let alone Detroit.
[ assuming that there isn't some kinda alien or fantasy Detroit out there that this guy could be referring to? which is totally possible!! especially since Michael's sure he heard him say "malfunctioning". ]

[He assumes that's the way everyone arrives here, then. It seems unpleasant.]
I'm beginning to learn that getting back will be more difficult than I first thought. It's inconvenient, but there are people who should be helped here, as well.
[He's not supposed to worry about that while his mission to control the deviant uprising is still active, but if he can't get back to Detroit, then surely that counts as being on hold for awhile?]
How long have you been here?
no subject
[ he thinks about it for a second or two. he hasn't been keeping as careful a track as he should - sometimes he's missed a day because he forgot, or 'cause other stuff was happening, but he's kept track enough that he's got a rough idea, at least. ]
Honestly, I'm not sure of the exact length of time since calendars don't exist here, but it's gotta be around a couple months by now. But there's people who've been here longer than that. We all got here the same way, though, even if we're not sure exactly how yet.
no subject
[People have been arriving here for a few months. If there's a predictable pattern to those arrivals, maybe there's something that can be watched out for.]
no subject
This is the first time I've seen newbies climb out. So no. You'd be better off asking someone who's been here longer if you're trying to figure out a pattern. [ beat. ] Oh, but someone I hang out with did tell me she noticed the size of the groups has been getting smaller? I dunno if that means anything, we jammed about it for a while but it's pretty much still all theory.
no subject
Who was the person you were talking to about? I might need to speak with her later, if she doesn't mind.
[He'd try to do it even if she did mind, but...]

no subject
[He also tilts his head.] It would be good to have as much information as possible, for exactly that reason. We're in this situation together, so we should work together to get out of it.
no subject
[ the glowy thing in his head is hard to miss, and he did say malfunctioning earlier, but that could mean - well, it could mean a whole bunch of things, right? ]
no subject
[Hence the glowy thing and the glowing clothes and the malfunctioning and the complete lack of social skills.]
My name is Connor. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
Oh, awesome. I mean-- sorry, I'm Michael, and this is gonna sound weird to you probably, but we don't have androids like you where I come from. [ not outside of sci-fi, anyways. but then again considering that pill-sized supercomputers apparently exist now--
a sour feeling builds in his chest at the thought, so he casts it aside. ] And I've never heard of that CyberLife thing either, so our Earths have gotta be different.
no subject
It seems most people here haven't met an android before. Where I'm from we've become ubiquitous, so it's something I'm still getting used to, as well.
no subject
[ a thought occurs to him, flashing across his face in a frown. ] Oh-- man, I just thought. You probably figured this one already, but this place really sucks with technology. Is that gonna be a problem for you?
no subject
[If they don't have any blue blood or spare biocomponents around, he probably wouldn't be able to be fixed. So that's bad.]
Furthermore, without a connection to CyberLife, I can't upload any memories. So if something were to happen where I was destroyed, this Connor's memories would be lost completely.
[Not that it really matters without another Connor to replace him with.]
no subject
I mean, let's hope that nothing like that does happen. [ it's not something he enjoys thinking about?? like, at all. ] There's plenty of people who can do magic in town, but I dunno about engineers or programmers or anything.
no subject
He definitely does not. He's not alive, he can't die. He's not alive, he can't die.
(But it would certainly be inconvenient.)]
I'm sorry, did you just say magic?
[He knows they all just sort of showed up in a well and the color is somehow missing from the world but still, people actually doing magic?]
