Little Willie, mean as hell, Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well. (And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!) What now? Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. [ He was expecting a verbal reply, but... Fine. He gets his answer, technically, but it's not the one he was hoping for. His expression turns to a deeper, concerned frown, and he brings a gloves hand to his mouth thoughtfully. ]

Troubling...

[ That's said more to himself, but considering the importance of this task, he doesn't simply leave, at least. He crouches to be closer to her height, since he's trying to convey more sincerity here. ]

Miss, should you see a boy by that description, could you please come find me, if it is not too much trouble? It is imperative that I find him.

[ She's... not sure she wants to find him, with the kind of formality he's radiating, but she can understand being worried (????) about someone else and wanting to find them as soon as possible.

So, even if she freezes up by the slightest amount, she's able to carefully nod in response. ]

Thank you. I quite appreciate the assistance.

[ Though considering how she freezes up... He pauses, thinking that he might leave with simply that, but no. He's actually curious about something else. ]

...Pardon me for being so forward as to ask. [ He prefaces with that, then gestures to himself rather elegantly ] But have I frightened you in some way, young lady?

[ That's... a loaded question. Most everyone is frightening her, and it's definitely not his fault, but something about him unnerves her even more. Maybe it's the very polite... politeness.

It's hard to put a finger on, but as she gazes up at him, she manages a very tiny nod. ]

Dear me...

[ He seems surprised by her honesty, but he nods as he gently accepts it all the same. At this point, it's starting to feel a bit like dealing with a skittish cat, but he doesn't have the same patience for this situation as for that. Humans simply aren't as charming, alas. But he smiles kindly, trying to present himself with a less intimidating air, though the result may be mixed. ]

I apologize, in that case. I hardly mean to do so.

[ A placating gesture, if a little flustered. It's (probably) not his fault. But she can't really say that, or... much of anything, really. Maybe she should go? If she leaves now, she can keep an eye out for his friend with the eyepatch. ]

[ Clearly, she's not the talkative sort. He cants his head lightly, even expectantly, since he's hoping for her to say something, but... Apparently not. He stands again, and as he does so, he gives her a nod. ]

Well, thank you for your assistance, in any case. Until next time?

[ To that, she offers a tiny bow.

And moves on, because she is nowhere near brave enough yet. ]
