Pushed his sister in a well. Mother said, while drawing water, "My, it's hard to raise a daughter." | |
Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! |

[ Brash? Dangerous? Either way, if this guy's a 'professional,' then it's all the more reason for Jion not to argue the point. Because clearly Reim knows what he's doing, right? ]
I'm Jion. Um, I'll do my best to help. [ He withdraws his pistol from its holster, pulling back the slide to check if there's a round already chambered, then returns it for now. ] But I feel like I should be honest about this -- I can do a lot to keep you safe, but it's probably still best to avoid any fights in the first place. Just in case.

[This complete stranger has a gun, so clearly, this is a good decision and nothing bad will happen. Reim looks a little more pleased with the situation, for his part.]
Like I said, I don't know how to fight, so trust me when I say I don't go looking for trouble. [he says, covered in bandages. bad luck.] Shall we?
no subject
Yeah, alright. [ A deep inhale, slow exhale, then he nods. ] I'm ready.
[ He steps forward first, looking back at Reim. ] I'll go first, but please just let me know if you wanna change directions. Or stop to take notes or anything. I'll follow your directions.

[So... let's march!! He's fancy, so please excuse how many times he has to stop when his coat gets caught on a low-hanging branch or some mystery thorns. At least he makes enough noise that the mutant animals seem to be keeping their distance instead of getting in the way.]
no subject
Still, after the nth time Reim has to stop to untangle himself from a busy, Jion gives him a curious look. ]
um, so, you're some sort of traveling reporter or writer or researcher, right? [ He steps forward to bat aside some small branches, giving a thoughtful cant of the head. ] You're kinda dressed different from how I expected. I thought people like that would dress more like ... uh.
[ Pause. He didn't actually finish that thought before opening his mouth. ]
... going on a safari?
no subject
[This, as Reim mutters something irritable at the bush as the hem of his coat finally comes loose. If this forest tears his clothes, he swears--]
I'm-- I suppose you could call me upper management, so no, I am not a reporter or a researcher, and this is very much not a "safari." I... My job is to make other people's jobs easier, and gathering as many details as possible is just one part of doing that properly.
[He's pretty chipper about this, but that lasts another beat before he sort of deflates with a small sigh.]
To be honest, this much physical activity and romping around in nature is wearing me out faster than I expected...
no subject
[ So the boss, but of what? 'Making other people's jobs easier' is pretty vague, and Jion is quiet for a few moments as he tries to figure that one out, diligently pushing aside branches and holding aside a particularly unruly sapling so it won't whack Reim in the face as he tries to pass.
And then he realizes what Reim is saying. Oh! That's easy. ]
-- would you like me to carry you? [ He speaks up a little abruptly, but it's said plainly, like it's an obvious solution. Which it kind of is. Jion isn't even out of breath. ]
no subject
It takes him a moment to really process the offer to carry him, busy as he is ducking around another branch. Ah--?]
I-- hmm. [Well, it's not an automatic no. He is doing even poorer than he expected, being injured, and Jion looks no worse for wear at all...] "Like" is a strong word... When you say "carry," how do you mean?
[He'd have to draw the line at princess carrying, for the sake of his pride.]
no subject
[ A small frown as he looks at his hands. Man, he's never actually thought about carrying people -- he mostly transports injured people, when he has to prioritize speed while accounting for injuries. Now that he thinks about it, maybe carrying Reim is going to be kinda weird. ]
Well, uh. Usually I carry people over my shoulder? Like this -- [ He vaguely mimics a fireman's carry ] -- but it might be hard for you to write that way. So piggyback, maybe? Oh, actually, you'd have the easiest time writing if I carried you on my shoulders, but you'd have to watch out so you don't whack your face into branches.
no subject
Ah-- well, perhaps you could lend me your shoulder, and if I want to write something down, I will stop walking?
[Then no one will topple to their death, and Jion will not have to carry someone trying to use the back of his head as a writing desk. Ideal.]
no subject
Yeah, that works! Sounds like a plan.
And I guess that's probably a better arrangement for in case something dangerous does come outta the trees ... though it's been pretty quiet so far, huh?
