Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

What now?

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Meanwhile, the current characters have some new gifts.

If there are any questions, please ask them here, and have fun! Thank you!

Y -- no.

[ Yes. He was kinda considering venturing in there, but now he gets the feeling that he shouldn't? ]

Is ... it that bad of an idea?

There are paralysis causing bees and fairies in there. Getting into that alone won't go well. [Though he can't say for certain how poorly it would go, because he hasn't tried being alone in there.]

I wouldn't go in without back up.

[ He makes a face at that. ]

Oh. Paralysis-causing bees, huh. Sounds pretty nasty. Not sure if I'd have anything for that ... [ That last bit's sorta mumbled under his breath before he pauses. ] Wait, fairies? Why do those need backup?

[Shouto sounds like he's definitely run into these fairies before and he already doesn't like them.]

Because they come in swarms and they're bad tempered. They like causing people harm and watching us suffer.

You know, when you said fairies, I was thinking something more ... fairy-tale? Like, talking to flowers and doing sparkly magic?

[ Jion looks a little fretful as he rubs a hand at his jaw, glancing into the woods. ]

To be honest, I've been kinda looking to dispose of some stuff, and I thought the forest might be safe and outta the way, but now I guess not.

Fairy tale fairies aren't very friendly. They're tricky and they can spirit you away for years. Do they really talk to flowers? [That's news to him.]

... If you bury stuff by the edge of the forest, that'll probably work.

Burying, huh.

[ Head canted, he seems to consider that very seriously for a few moments. It's an option, he supposes, though admittedly not ideal.

Anyway, fairies. ]

-- oh. Well, I mean, I've never actually, uh, seen fairies before. But don't they in movies? I'm pretty sure I saw stuff like that when I was younger.

[Shouto looks off into the distance.]

I haven't watched a lot of movies. I didn't have the time for it when I was growing up.

[He's pretty obviously fifteen.]

Oh. Uh ...

[ That earns a look that's mostly surprise, but also a little bit of a sympathy. That's gotta suck, movies are great. ]

-- well, there's always time later? I guess there aren't any movies here, but maybe now you'll have something to look forward to when we get out of this place?

What kept you so busy? Studies?

There's a lot of books here though. That's something... even if all of them are about fairy tales and stuff like that.

[He gives a small shrug of his shoulders.]

Yeah, that's one way to put it. I have a lot more free time here, but- [There's not much to do.]

Mmmm, that's just not the same, huh. Fairytales are okay, but they kinda all have the same sorta plot after a while ...

[ Jion loves movies himself, so he can't imagine being that age and having seen practically none. After a thoughtful pause, he perks up, like he's just had a great idea. ]

Y'know, maybe you could ask some friends to tell you about their favorite movies! It won't be as good as watching the real things, but it might be a good change of pace when you're tired of fairytales!

I didn't realize so many of them ended in death or people getting eaten. [It's... a little gross, actually? He's not fond of these things.

The suggestion gets a thoughtful look. It's... true. He's never asked any of his friends about movies before. Usually they were too busy with things for that kind of casual conversation and it's never crossed his mind.]

I'll ask them.

I bet they'd like that. [ Or, well, he knows he'd like that, but surely he can't be the only one around who likes talking films. ] And they say you can sometimes learn about a person from, like, what kind of movies they likes, too. So I guess it could be a sort of bonding experience, too.

That's a good idea. Most of our bonding has been... being stuck in this town, so something lighter might be good.
