Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here! | |
t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

[... Not that he sounds remotely concerned about them. In fact, he's peering into the forest with interest, as if he might catch sight of something interesting from here.]

[ Though Sebastian sounds concerned about that possibility, he definitely isn't at all. Arrogantly, he's quite sure that even if he were to encounter dangerous creatures, they would be no match for him at all. He hums thoughtfully to himself, but then looks to Ryan. ]
Would you be interested in venturing into it, even with the possibility we may discover something like that?

[He brightens at the idea, giving Sebastian a little grin; sure, he's probably been told not to do it, but as long as he's not alone it's fine, right?]
Depending on what they are, I might be able to tell if anything gets too close. Give you a little forewarning and all.

[ It's a polite exclamation, but he doesn't seem to be opposed to it as much as he is surprised. Though he does have some immediate doubts about just how well his sense for the abnormal is, considering Sebastian is a large example of that. But it's also for the better anyways. He'd very much prefer to be seen as quite normal. ]
That may come in handy, then. I suppose I am in luck to have run across you. [ There's a friendly laugh in his voice by the end, and he gestures to the forest. ] Well, shall we, sir?

Sure! I'll try to keep an eye out as much as I can, and maybe you'll be right about it being lucky.
[He doesn't seem to mind setting off first, either, despite his absolutely lacking nature experience-- identifying plants is not navigation-- apparently confident enough that he won't just be setting out alone. If he is, well... he can pick up on this guy, he'll be aware if he's not coming.
Ryan's also pausing to pull a bit of red yarn from his bag and tie it around a tree branch several steps in.]
There-- hopefully we'll be able to just look for that later to find where we came in.

[ Though smoothly, he continues without much of a beat, since there's another matter to be addressed. ]

[His smile turns somewhat sheepish, there, before his attention shifts back to the trees with a thoughtful hum.]
You know, it really doesn't seem that bad, and I'm not even picking up on anything except you... maybe people were exaggerating?

[ It's said quite kindly, and Sebastian doesn't comment on Ryan's confessed isolation, though that may very well be because of what he says next. There's no outward reaction, but inwardly, he very sharply picks up on that offhanded comment.
"Anything except you."
Perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise, since Ryan had claimed to be able to sense things that were abnormal, and Sebastian would without a doubt fall into that category. However, considering it hadn't been mentioned at the start and that Ryan seemed quite genial, he'd simply assumed that it didn't quite extend to him. Erronously, it might seem. ]
Pardon... [ His tone is unchanged, ever polite and perfect ] Perhaps I misheard, but... You sense something from me?

[Every bit as casual as the previous comment, as if he's commenting on something as trivial as the weather rather than Sebastian's presence.]
It doesn't tell me exactly what you are, I haven't felt anyone like you before, but... well, it didn't really seem like the time to ask? I didn't want to sidetrack us right off the bat...

Hm. I cannot disagree that it would definitely be a distraction... [ He gives him a light, friendly, and almost apologetic smile ] But you seem to take that well. Shall I take that to mean you do not mind?

[His smile is still just as friendly, something he hopes is at least somewhat reassuring.]
Honestly, I kind of prefer it? I usually get along better with people I can sense than people I can't, it can all be kind of difficult to explain to people who're too normal.
