He is bare-faced to the world and yet, he lacks luster of any kind. The telltale shine of a Gem is absent even in his hair, in his eyes. It makes Ghost's 'skin' crawl for just a moment, and their body language shifts- meeker, as if they're trying to make themselves small and unassuming.
Cairngorm had told them about humans, and yet it had not prepared Ghost Quartz for this. Actually seeing one of these fleshy, fragile, mortal creatures. They were alien.
