Event Ten.

Little Willie, mean as hell,
Pushed his sister in a well.
Mother said, while drawing water,
"My, it's hard to raise a daughter."

t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. So you're here -- and you're not alone, and the only way out appears to be the thin circle of sunlight from above, the opening of the well.

(And elsewhere, in the Town, everyone's waking up to gifts of various usefulness, but hopefully they remember to check the well today even so!)

Welcome to Awash's tenth event log, and the intro log for this month, everyone! All new characters have found themselves waking in the well in the middle of the Town. Hopefully they can get a hand out! For more information, please go here!

Right. [All Might pats him gently on the back, even as Izuku's tears start to spill over. He can't begin to explain how he feels responsible for his absence. Even if Izuku's been fine without him, even if there was no way he could have come before now... as his teacher, he promised to guide him, hadn't he? His place is here, by his student's side.

But there's no use in dwelling on the past, when what Izuku needs is reassurance. He pulls back, then, just enough to offer a bright grin.]

Though even before I was here, I was still with you. Why? [He pokes him in the chest, tone more lighthearted now.] Because you have One for All! No obstacle can break a bond like that.

[ The further in they go, the more grateful Nico is that he doesn't live here but at the same time it reminds him of a certain blond back home. If Will had ended up in this place it's very likely that he'd end up in this district. Hazard of being a kid of the sun god.

So instead of looking at the houses and letting his thoughts drift too far in the person he left behind - he focuses in on Sasuke's expression. The way it changes the longer they're here. Okay, that's not really much better because it's kind of like watching his own feelings changing.

Except Nico isn't comforted when they reach the house Sasuke is drawn to. It's more of a gut-wrenching feeling. Some mix between guilt and an ache. He'd told Will he would stay at Camp and even if it's not his fault he ended up here, he can't deny that he feels guilty for breaking his word. Since his stay at the clinic after the fight with Gaea, Will has been a near-constant presence at his side. A presence he's now sorely lacking.

Still, Sasuke seems to approve of his new residence so Nico stuffs his feelings down as far as they can go. The ninja even goes so far to not be on the alert when he enters the structure.

He feels strangely out-of-place and weird considering he hadn't felt anything but wary and suspicious after seeing his own place. The exact opposite of what it seems Sasuke is feeling now. Which is why he lingers in the street and doesn't say a word. ]

A-ash...?! [He coughs a little in surprise, then quickly covers his mouth with a hand. Whoops, maybe he should find a way to wrap this conversation up soon before he draws any more suspicion to himself.]

How much food has colour around here? Is there enough to feed everyone?

[Okuni somewhere going "thank god that's not me" without knowing that she too will turn out exactly like yuu]

The first time was because I was curious, and the second time was because I was bored! Even annoying people own things interesting enough to look at.

[She sounds peppy and proud and not at all like someone who regrets her Crimes.]

Did you know that Ichi-chan owns some really scandalous things? I was so shocked to see them!

[The only thing that's weird about this conversation is that All Might is Muscle Might.]

There's a decent amount. We've got a community garden and I think somebody made it grow faster than normal. So we have strawberries and apples and stuff.

... I think some fish have color too, but I haven't really been checking. Blue lobsters also have their color back.

[For a long moment, Sasuke stands at the door without moving or speaking. The district feels very Naruto, or perhaps not exactly Naruto, what Naruto means to him. Some kind of ridiculous shining beacon in the darkness, a lighthouse to return to safely.

But the house is different, even here.

It's familiar in another way. Empty, gloomy. He barely remembers the house on the night he sped through it, but following the event, he had returned. In the rain, it had been the same if not more lonely. Empty.]

You don't have to stand outside if you don't want.

[And with that, the dimness of the front room swallows him in the black cloak as he steps inside. If not for his footsteps, he would disappear completely.]

He sounds like an interesting guy. I'll have to go find him and say hi at some point. [run, guren.] Have you met him yet? Do you want to go find him together?

[say no. escape while you still can.]

[Because she may or may not need to shake down this mysterious someone for information.]

Oh, that'd be good. Standing alone on a bridge waiting for someone to come by is bound to get pretty boring. But if you're gonna be my bridge buddy, that means we should get to know each other while we wait for someone to come by. Where are you from?

Not siblings, exactly. But very, very distant cousins... probably. Yuck, that's kind of gross when you think about it.

[Talk shit, land hits! Any other version is for amateurs.]

Then as the intrepid explorer between the two of us, it's my pleasure to inform you that this table is full of shit.

[He shoves his hands in his pockets, resigned now at least to not finding anything worthwhile here.]

The name's Jotaro, by the way, since it looks like we're gonna be neighbors to some extent.

[She does love a good pun...]

Now you're making me curious.

It could be worse. One group came here when it was raining.

[But a list is the easiest way he could receive and answer questions, so he really won't mind. It's better than blurting out questions and then cursing at him a lot. Zelda is very organized!]

Feel free. Apparently I'm supposed to live in "Bluo," so I assume you'll be able to find me there, or around town.

[ While Sasuke found a lighthouse nearly half a lifetime ago, Nico's only had months. Without it he feels a bit lost like a moth searching for the light. It might be a familiar sensation but that doesn't mean he has to like it.

Still, he should be used to being alone. Nothing but darkness and the dead for company.

... Except Nico isn't alone and he's somewhat startled when Sasuke's voice calls out to him. Invites him inside in a roundabout way. For a long moment, he stares up at the ninja's back before the other slips into the shadows of the house.

All of the sudden, he's entirely reluctant to be alone so Nico makes quick work of following the man inside. Here's hoping the grass isn't dead where he'd been standing out in the street or questions might be asked later. (This is exactly why Nico has a doctor's note to not have to sit alone at dinner time whenever he's at Camp.) He only moves a couple of step into the house before stopping and looking around. ]

Doesn't look abandoned. Maybe you've got a roommate too.

Yes. I'm an android developed by CyberLife, specifically to assist in investigations.

[Hence the glowy thing and the glowing clothes and the malfunctioning and the complete lack of social skills.]

There's a few people about who seem to know more than we do.

[ Still plenty of unanswered questions, though. ]

I might be afraid of what you'd come up with if you get really bored by yourself. [ Women are scary. Sadie looks like she could be pretty fierce in a fight while also insulting someone. ] Italy but I moved to the United States when I was a kid. Now I live in New York. Though I sometimes go out to California to visit my half-sister.

[Extremely vague?? But it does give him his next objective.

[In the end, Nico isn't alone, it's true. Sasuke may not be as shiny as Will, as shiny as Naruto or Boruto, but he's there. More like a sturdy dark ship to sail on rather than a lighthouse.]

Mm. Seems like you're right.

[Once Nico is inside, Sasuke continues on at a leisurely pace, scouting the rooms of the house. Someone else is different rooming with him, too, but there isn't really enough for him to know whether or not they're familiar. Who they are. A laptop. He considers being nosy, but leaves it. The force draws him to a separate room, another laptop.

It has access to the same forum, looks the same as Nico's. He leaves it on the bed. The room, for now, is bare and simple, though he doesn't seem to mind.

The rest of the house checks out about like Nico's own; a roommate who isn't currently present, no traps, no intruders. A bare-boned thing stuck in a yellow section of town. Guess he should settle. Six months, he doesn't know quite yet. He might be here a while.

Carefully, he reaches up and unfastens the cloak at the collar buttons, pulling it off and dropping it across the bed. He's less intimidating with it on, slimmer. The outfit beneath seems... business casual? The left sleeve really doesn't have an arm in it, and he has frustratingly not bothered to pin it up.]

Ah. That's a useful thing to keep track of. [Especially in a situation like this.] I've been designed primarily for investigation, including examining a crime scene and gathering evidence. I have advanced software that helps me preconstruct my own movements for viability, mainly used for chasing down suspects, as well as software to reconstruct a person's movements based on evidence. I also have weapons handling software, and I can perform basic first aid.

[Was that too much?]

Otherwise, I have the average strength and speed of a human about my size.

[Why would he be offended? That's a very pertinent question, given the circumstances!]

167.8 pounds. I'm made to be lightweight.

[In comparison to older models and other robots, anyway. And most actual human men his size.]

Then make sure to tell her when you get back.

[The past can be regrettable, but it was the future that was important.]

I'm Kaoru Akashi! It's nice to meet you, Uchiha-san. So, is it okay for me to give out your name and location to anyone asking? Or is there anyone I should lie to about where you are? Like a stalker or something.

Mm, yeah— from what I've heard, it sounds like we've all got it a little rough.

[ Understatement, probably. But reinforcing the dangers of a strange place seems counterproductive, not to mention a downer; Momo doesn't linger too long on the thought. ]

But everyone I've talked to has been really positive so far! There's someone who can use magic to heal people, and someone I just met seems like a super super capable guy— I feel pretty secure already.

...well, the forest is pretty ominous.

[She says with a sheepish smile because something about dealing with terrorist that would murder her for being born with powers since she was ten does Something to a person.]

It's fine though! I'm sure whatever happens we'll deal with it!

[ Ship... why is it a ship? He's had enough of ships for a while but Nico supposes it's better than drowning.

As Sasuke explores the house, he'll have one teen trailing after him and peering into each room after the man is done with it. Yeah, Nico is absolutely exploring this house far more than he had with the one he's supposed to live in - there will be time for that when he goes back to it later.

Even though the building is devoid of people beyond the two of them at the moment, the space is clean and tidy. Eventually they explore nearly space and end up in a bedroom that the ninja is apparently claiming as his own.

So Nico shuffles in just passed the doorframe and settles on the floor close to the nearest outlet so he can plug in his laptop later. ]

Not a feather or scorch mark in sight. I suppose that makes up a little for the coloring of the houses in the area.

[ Oh. That's actually kind of... normal? She is definitely not going to mention how she assumed he was super heavy or something since he's a robot.

...If he is a robot. ]

Then don't break this!

[ Lottie tosses down one end of some rope - long enough to reach those trapped at the bottom of the well. She doesn't bother to mention how she found it, or that some kindly people already secured the other end to something sturdy nearby for this very purpose. ]

Tie my bag to the end of that, then hurry up out of there, okay?
