t's pretty dark and miserable down in the well. The cavernous area feels much larger than a well should be, bodies milling about in the darkness and knee deep, frigid water. Anyway, that's exactly where he's going to turn and approach, rummaging around until he finds something and comes back out with it. [To which Sasuke raises his visible eye and peers out across the circle of the center of town. Splotches of color dotted the areas he searched briefly. He can't exactly tell if the color is returning or leaving, but based on the size of the monochrome, he's going to guess it must be returning.

His gaze falls back to Nico at the mention of beings with such strength. Hm.]

So there is a mysterious "Mister F." behind the scenes, but no one has ever seen him or her, or knows anything about them.

But there are also other kinds, like having to make flower crowns for people or stealing honey from bees... There's no pattern to them that anyone's found yet. The rewards we get from them are all different too! Some are useful, some are really stupid.

They're high in major minerals like phosphorus, calcium and potassium! They're a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids! Those can reduce the occurrence of cardiovascular disease!

[And then he goes back to his much more measured demeanor.]

Any fish will do in a pinch. I just prefer those.

[ For a moment there's just silence and staring... then Nico looks over Sasuke before glancing down at himself. Yeaaah, that doesn't help much. ]

So basically if anyone's going to get mistaken for colorless natives, it's us?

[ The humor is so dry that it's practically brittle, but it's there in the faint upward curve of his lips. ] I guess this is what I get for turning down the bright orange t-shirts that were being handed out back home.

[ This time the sarcasm is more tangible, because there absolutely was orange t-shirts and Nico was not about to start going around wearing them. Way too bright for his tastes.

When the options are to work for them or stand back and let the world end, yeah I choose to align myself with the powerful beings who gives us cryptic messages to work with. [ Nico looks away from Sasuke. ] Doesn't help that my dad is one of those beings.

At this point, it's starting to feel a bit like dealing with a skittish cat, but he doesn't have the same patience for this situation as for that. Humans simply aren't as charming, alas. But he smiles kindly, trying to present himself with a less intimidating air, though the result may be mixed. ]
