FOR MICHAEL: BEES

[ setting up meetings like these are quite common now and he's starting to settle in their routine. he feels, if nothing else, like he's a bounty hunter for hire. it's really more a lateral move than anything else.

still, many things aren't what they were and finding a routine is one of the ways to make them bearable. so. here he was. doing another quest. ]

I'll share the reward with you. They always give us rather interesting things in return.


OPEN: QUEST 27 + ANYTHING ELSE

[ if you wanna try your hand with this one, go ahead! giorno can be found wandering here and there, most notably the community gardens, the library, or tending to the things he's growing around his house. you might also find him near the waters, just brooding and generally making crappy sandcastles idk. whatever you want!

ETA. i'm all good with the fairies quest, i won't be taking up anyone on that anymore! ]

FARMVILLE CRAP

[ if you've got anything you wanna talk to him about the farm, hit him up! from this post giorno has included a set of directions to his place so you can stop by and chat anytime. i've got permission from the mods to have the farm set up in an open area in flavo but if you got any other ideas hit me up at ilium @ plurk or pm me. u_u

this won't be a monthly thing, but if you wanna do something related to it i can set up something every now and then, just let me know. ideally i think the farm would take about a month and a half to get set up ...! ]

Quest 26

[glaciers]

[Here they go again, doing the quests that popped up on the board. Still, this can't be as stressful as the pit quest. It's better than just sitting around and doing nothing.

He looks over at the first person who happens to cross his path as he walks towards the forest.]

Want to defeat the fairies with me?

[tropism]

Why not. I've never seen them in person before. Have you?

[ defeating the fairies sounds positively shakespearean. ]

[glaciers]

I think they were there in the pit? I don't know, I was busy whenever I ended up there.

[Does he count this as revenge? They might not even be the same fairies.]

[tropism]

Really? I didn't see them at all. Must've gotten lucky.

[ instead, the last time he was in the pit, there were hornets. and the reason they were there was because he put them there for poor rin to suffer through. but he doesn't say it at all, and anyway nobody has to know he condemned someone to being stung just because he can. ] Fairies use magic, right? Wonder what kind.

[glaciers]

They were very loud. Apparently they like fighting... or just watching us beat each other up.

[It'd be good for them to get a taste of their own medicine then. He doesn't have to feel particularly bad when he freezes them all solid.]

Illusions, I think? Maybe there's more than just that.

[tropism]

[ a sigh. ] Well, there were so many of them watching, back then. It took me a while to get out of there.

I don't mind payback. I just think it's odd we're going after them when there were many different creatures that day watching. [ rather thoughtfully: ] Do they forget faces easily? I hope so.

Anyway - we should hurry. [ a frown. ] I don't like staying here longer than we need to.

[glaciers]

I got out fast the first time. The second was more of a fight. [He's just blunt about everything. It's easier that way.]

I don't think anybody I've ever met has forgotten my face. [It's unfortunately striking, with the split color hair and the huge scar over his left eye.] Maybe they don't pay that much attention to humans.

[At the prompting, Shouto just starts walking right into the forest. Getting right down to business, it seems. Now all they need to do is find one of the little nuisances.]

I hope they mob us, [ giorno says thoughtfully. ] It'll be easier to take them down in one go.

[ the forest is full of trees that reach up to the sky and cover the ground with shadows and noises that fill the air with something else that's not quite normal. there is the regular birdsong but there is also something else. the quiet skittering of some animal here and there that's not quite what they're familiar with. the last time he was here, he nearly died being led astray by a harpy-looking creature with a lovely voice. ]

What's your - quirk, again? [ what an odd name. ]

[glaciers]

[Shouto looks around, but honestly he's a city kid. He just doesn't have the skill set for tracking down small game- or anything, really. Might as well keep his guard up before they run into something actively malicious.]

Half cold half hot... or just ice and fire.

[One of those is much faster to say.]

I hope that isn't a request.

[ mostly teasing, but giorno seems like he'd be the type to do it just out of the sheer curiosity. but anyway, she has her bow slung behind her back, and she'll lead the way to the forest. ]

[ he laughs lightly. ] It's not. I'd be very sad if that came to pass, especially since I've met so many interesting people since I came here.

It's just an odd thing to turn into a quest. How do you reward someone for doing that?

I'd be more welcomed to being perplexed toward it if I wasn't so annoyed at its existence. Quests should encourage the growth of our bonds, not try to dismantle them.

[ seriously, why put people through it? she's usually very adamant about quests needing to be complete, but frankly she'll be disappointed if anyone actually completes it. ]

[ well ya better not be disappointed in the next couple of days. ]

Seems to me like someone put it as an exit, then. [ rather thoughtfully: ] For someone who either would want to preserve themselves or rid themselves of a relationship, this is a good way to absolve them of responsibility.

[ that's her secret, giorno: she's always disappointed. ]

...You're not wrong. But then I would question the motivations of the person in question far past the simple completion of a quest.

[ the way she sees it, it would turn "wanting to complete for the sake of completing" to "an act of cowardice." ]

You never know what'll push someone to hurt someone else. Who knows, maybe they'll find a middle ground in the end and things will be better.

This town is very small - you can't just avoid someone here forever. Even if they ruined your day.

Precisely why we shouldn't be making a concentrated effort to do so.

[ ruining someone's day by accident? fair, maybe something happens and it hurts, that's forgivable. an intentional act of malice is not. ]

I want to hope no one will do it. Then again, we can't predict how everyone will behave. Frustrating as it is.

Don't think about that right now.

[ because they're going in deep in the forest and the thicket of trees is getting more and more dense. the sunlight right now is peeking through the leaves and branches and it's a warm feeling, but for who knows how long. ]

[ cah voice ] bees?

[ another quest it is, if only so they're not stuck kicking their heels in this tiny town. it's amazing how many more hours in the day there are when literally everything about modern life doesn't factor into the equation. ]

Yeah, or super goofy. Did you ever do the unicorn quest?

No, I haven't. What do you get from that one?

[ all he got was a music box from a previous quest. ]

A unicorn phone charm that makes you sparkle in the sunlight like a knockoff YA novel vampire.

[ for all that description though, he loves it. it's so stupid and he loves it. maybe one day it will even find a practical application, but stealing honey from bees is probably not that application!! ]

[ wait - ]

Actually. I just remembered I have to collect a debt. Can I borrow that one after?

[ Michael shoots him a deeply quizzical look as they make their way further into the trees. ]

One man's happiness is another man's nightmare, [ giorno says confidently. ] I'm sure I can get creative enough.

How do we find these bees?

[ S...QUINT... he is Somewhat Unsure.jpg about this prospect... ] I mean, I got nothing against you borrowing it, sure. So long as I don't end up being an accessory in scarring some poor dude for life. What kinda debt could they possibly owe you in a place that has no money?

[ it's probably fine though, right... like how much lasting damage could sparkling at someone actually do... ]

Anyway, I guess we listen for the buzzing or something. A whole hive full of bees has gotta be pretty noisy, right?

A blood debt, of course.

... I'm kidding. It's nothing serious. They told me they didn't know much in terms of ... the culture where I came from. They lost to me in the pit battle, so now they get to hear me talk for hours. The accessory is just for ambiance.

[ listening to the buzzing it is. so they walk further up and in in the hopes of finding them. mutated bees ... some are bound to be huge and would probably leave tracks. ] That reminds me, you know who's good at tracking bees?

[ giorno reaches down to the ground and starts building up a pile of dirt. ]
