[ dextera steps to follow him, but then he realizes that he was told to stay and he’s a good dog. instead, he watches as—from his perspective—the woman floats away with a definite sway to her hips, her ass full and tight in the fabric of the kimono.

she tosses one steamy glance back his way, like she’s bringing back something exciting, and that’s enough to get dextera to start losing himself to some other fantasy all over again.

he might not even notice when ryo comes back, actually. ]

[ This thread is terrible! I love it. It takes him a few minutes, but Ryo finds what he's looking for—a wooden bucket in one of the run-down abandoned houses. He fills it up with freezing water from the harbour and then returns to where he left Dextera, who's still standing there like the obedient puppy he is; at least some things don't change even when he's being horny and ogling fake women.

He wastes no time and walks up to him, upending the bucket over his head. ]

[ even the bucket in ryo’s hands looks like a hot lady, so to dextera’s vision, there are now two of them approaching—which makes the excitement in his eyes all the brighter, only to be extinguished by an abrupt rush of cold water. at least the wing finally slips from his fingers. ]

Ah—!

[ when he opens his eyes again, things are back to normal but his teeth are chattering, his body suddenly chilled from tip to toe.

what… happened? ]

[ His eyes narrow slightly when he sees the wing fall to the ground—so that's what caused this nonsense. ]

Are you still seeing attractive women?

[ dextera shakes his head, trying to dry off his face. he’s so cold, and it’s salty, too… ryo must have gone to the harbor, which isn’t really something dextera is grateful for. ]

[ still, it’s better than humiliating himself in front of ryo further, and when he realizes what all ryo must have seen from him, he just doesn’t move his sleeve from over his eyes. he doesn’t want to look. ]

[ Good. He was going to give him another shower if the first one didn't work. ]

You should burn that wing before you embarrass yourself again.

[ dextera is inclined to agree. ]

…there were two.

[ he hardly even remembers why he’s out here in the first place—everything that just happened feels like a blur, and dextera doesn’t know how he’s ever going to look ryo in the eye again. slowly, though, he lowers his hand, and keeps his eyes on the ground. ]

I’m missing one.

You better find it before someone else does. Do you remember where you lost it?

[ For what it's worth, Ryo doesn't seem angry with him, only mildly annoyed. Then again, it's hard to tell given how little he tends to emote. ]

[ dextera shakes his head. if he traces back to why he ran out here…

when it clicks, he inhales, horrified. ryo has never properly been introduced to his beloved daughter, so maybe he won’t care as much, but this is a big deal for dextera. ]
