[ Ryo takes the jar and holds it under the opening he made, watching the honey begin to flow into it. A minute or so passes before it's almost full enough to spill over and he screws the lid onto it before handing it back to Dextera. Don't drop it. ]

Let's leave before the bees wake up from the effects of the smoke.

[ dextera feels like he should apologize to the bees or something, maybe restore the spot that ryo cut into… but he does none of that. they have a full jar of questionably delicious, colorless honey, and a few sleepy bees that are trying to stop the intruders from escaping. one of them bumps into a tree trying to pursue them. ]

[ dextera nods, carrying their little container of smoke with them so no accidental forest fires are started. ]

[ a gif depicting these bees. ryo slides his knife back inside his coat and falls into step beside dextera, not saying anything else until they've put plenty enough distance between themselves and the hive. ]

That went easier than I thought it would. [ they didn't even get stung! ]

[ dextera offers the compliment so earnestly it’s almost painful to behold. it comes from a slightly different place than his usual unconditional worship of the ground ryo walks on, though—he appreciates ryo’s patience in teaching him even more than he realizes. ]
