What: QUEST RELATED CATCH ALL. There's an open bee prompt since Guren is a red, so anyone is welcome even if you didn't plot with me! Newbies too, once they get in!
Warnings: None. Will add if necessary!

A. Bees to see - OPEN

[Guren feels as though he's been going a little easy on the quests lately. It's time to fix that. He's antsy, he's got an empty jar in one hand and his other on his sword, and he holds it up to anyone who might pass him by.]

Have you bothered getting any honey yet? You can come with me.

[And with that simple line, they're off! Unless your character has any resistance, of course, but assuming they don't, Guren leads them right into the forest.]

I wouldn't be surprised if these things were huge and mutated, so let's be prepared for that.

[If you want to hit Guren up for a different quest, even if he's a red, feel free! Try to ruin his day? Just see what he's up to? This is my generic space to say anyone can tag me even if I didn't plot things with them, so feel free, or hit me up at zeloser to work something out, if you want!]

[ it feels like they’re doing this to hide how worried dextera was—offering guren a kind of escape from being told off, maybe, but it’s just something he’ll keep in mind later. for now, dextera doesn’t want to ruin this nice moment with his own thoughts, and he doubts guren wants to either. ]

Ah…

[ dextera will gladly reciprocate, meeting guren’s attention like this, sucking his tongue into his mouth until he decides he wants to part. he sighs, and rests his forehead against guren’s with a closed mouth.

the kissing is always nice. ]

[It's always very nice. A reminder that he has something here and now that's not being torn from him as actively as everything else has been. It's still at risk of being torn away in so many ways, but he's determined to stop it. This time... maybe this time, he can do it right.

When they part, his eyes close for a moment and he just focuses on their breathing, on the sound of the water. It's relaxing. Intimate. Nice. He blinks them open again, but doesn't move from where he is.

There's so much he has to do... but Dextera is someone who can get him to stop.]

Thanks. [For coming here with him... for everything.]

[ that’s all dextera wants to be, when it comes to guren. someone who can get him to slow down, to take care of himself, to be calm and comfortable for just a few seconds longer than he would ever normally allow himself. it’s tough, when it’s so ingrained into guren that he needs to do so much alone, but dextera will always try to get him to remember his friends.

it’s the least dextera can do, when guren never stops helping him. ]

…You’re welcome. [ a pause. ] I’ll always… be here. For you.

[ but the way he signs here is pointedly different than his usual—one hand to touch guren’s chest, and he points to guren’s heart. even if dextera isn’t physically present, maybe if he can just get guren to remember that dextera worries about him, he’ll be willing to reach out. ]

[Guren understands what he means, but there's something about the gesture that makes his stomach twist uncomfortably. It's the idea that he went without Dextera, that he could have ended up leaving him, or maybe he's showing Dextera that it's alright to leave him like that just the same— but it's not. All at once, he's incredibly aware of that.

His eyes look a little wider for it, and he catches that hand too quickly, squeezing it with both of his own that he's pulled back just for this.]

I want you here, too. [Here, with him, by his side. He hopes that Dextera knows that. That he gets how much he needs that.]

I mean, I know, I just— [It's a rare moment when he fumbles with words like this, and he blinks a few extra times and looks down at the water.] I want you to know that, too. It's not that I wouldn't want you with me. I don't know what I was thinking.

[ with the way guren fumbles, dextera knows he must be suddenly, hopelessly sincere in his words, but dextera doesn’t know what to make of it. did he say something to trigger this, or did guren reach an epiphany all on his own?

either way, dextera finds himself gently pulling his hand back and sliding his fingers under guren’s chin. the water is an all right view, but isn’t it better for them to look each other in the eye?

at least for now, at least like this. ]

I understand.

[Guren seems genuinely relieved by those words, that touch, and that look. His shoulders ease out of their tense, bunched up state, he lets out a breath, and now he's just left looking a little flustered about it, trying to shove that back behind some kind of small frown that won't stay in place.]

Good.

[Expressing emotions is so hard. But he'll keep looking at Dextera, even if he's obviously embarrassed, because this means that much.]

...I'm pretty cleaned up now, if you want to get out and dry off.

[ in understanding, dextera also realizes that it’s going to take guren a long time to break free of that ingrained independence—and it’s just dextera’s job to invite himself along, if he must.

maybe he won’t always know when guren chooses to go off on some foolish adventure, but hopefully they can at least reach a point where guren thinks to tell him these things first. ]

Whenever you’re ready.

[ he finds a stone under his feet, using it to give himself some height to kiss guren’s forehead, on that note. ]

[That kiss is so cute... and in response, Guren wraps his arms around Dextera and lifts him up in the water!! It's just enough to kiss him on the chest and drop him slowly back down, because he's too tsun to spin, but still.]

Come on.

[Taking his hand after that, he'll lead and help him out of the water.]
