[ open ] Quest Catch-all!

Who: Guren Ichinose & Various
Where: All around town
When: The month of September!
What: QUEST RELATED CATCH ALL. There's an open bee prompt since Guren is a red, so anyone is welcome even if you didn't plot with me! Newbies too, once they get in!
Warnings: None. Will add if necessary!

A. Bees to see - OPEN
[Guren feels as though he's been going a little easy on the quests lately. It's time to fix that. He's antsy, he's got an empty jar in one hand and his other on his sword, and he holds it up to anyone who might pass him by.]

Have you bothered getting any honey yet? You can come with me.

[And with that simple line, they're off! Unless your character has any resistance, of course, but assuming they don't, Guren leads them right into the forest.]

I wouldn't be surprised if these things were huge and mutated, so let's be prepared for that.

B. Wildcard - OPEN
[If you want to hit Guren up for a different quest, even if he's a red, feel free! Try to ruin his day? Just see what he's up to? This is my generic space to say anyone can tag me even if I didn't plot things with them, so feel free, or hit me up at [plurk.com profile] zeloser to work something out, if you want!]

Yes, I am. We're different because we're not the same kind of sword, but it's advantageous because of strengths and weaknesses.

[ Like how right here, Honebami can jump from one branch to another without snapping them, because he's small and light compared to those two. Congrats on your petite sword buddy, Guren. ]

That would be ideal, because I can see a few bees flying around.

[ They look weird and big, but the buzzing confirms it. Also honey is sticky, sword does not want to deal with that, even if it's sweet and delicious. ]

[ When he draws his blade, the blade doesn't exactly shine, instead what looks like a swirl of silvery wind surrounds it, Don't mind him as he provides a nice distraction when the hive's in sight, then. ]

I'm going.

[ Honebami gets in close and fast; the bee right by the entrance gets its wings slashed right off, with a gust of wind following the strike all anime-style that knocks off the others and disrupts the hive a bit. Now they're a little peeved and that's good! Now Honebami's gotta take a refreshing dash around the hive while the rest give chase. Not all of them will leave their hive to follow of course, but there are a good deal less. Good luck, Guren. ]

[ He's doing fine, he's an agile little sword. The bees barely get him with their stingers and he has armor that buys him time to knock them away, doubling back to get to reach the hive again. You know, to check on Guren real quick— wait no that's not good and a little unintended. ]

Ichinose-san!

[ The bees that were chasing the original disrupt or now take notice of Guren bothering their hive for honey... Whoops. But that's easily fixed as he starts pursuing them now, taking them down with quick strikes as he hops from one branch to another. Bee assassination, a new pastime. ]

Sorry, I think you're bait now. But I can guard you like this, keep going.

[ LOOK IT'S FINE. Bees are pretty simple minded as they get slashed in half trying to go for Guren. They have to land on him or stop midair to do dramatic dive bombs. It's enough opportunity to go bee hunting. Also it's a weird thing where he's okay with defending a stranger? Really okay at it, so please have faith in him or something...

Nah gather honey like the wind, it's alright. ]

I don't expect it to be. Sticky things are unpleasant to handle...

[ Bleh, even if honey is tasty. ]

—move your body to the right!

[ Not quite a bee though, it's him kicking off the tree trunk to get one way too close for comfort. He has to whip off the guts stuck on the blade, since that's still "him" and it's getting to be a bit much. ]

It seems their vitals are in their abdomen with the poison. Ugh...

[ Despite the complaint, he's still fighting at least. He has to just fight a little less recklessly. Like, go for the head and wings, deflect the stingers like if they were swords... ]

The sword is my real self, so in a way. It's more unpleasant than really damaging.

[ They just need to get out of there fast when it's over soHonebami can clean it off properly. But really that's a given to escape from pissed off bees when there's no reason to linger around them when the honey's collected. ]

I think they ask for way too much honey. How are you faring, Ichinose-san?

[ Maybe hearing that he's okay or relatively so will make this alright. Wakizashi are secondary weapons after all. ]

That's good to hear. For both things.

[ He actually sounds a little happy? It's praise and even in the midst of a mission like this, it's nice. He has a mentality of a young teenager in some ways even if he's older than Guren. Okay he's the oldest of the swords but doesn't mean much because that being a sword sword before conscience exists.

There are definite close calls here with the bees drawing in closer to try and overwhelm with numbers, but he does his best to protect Guren. Honebami doesn't mention it, but his body feels heavier, the venom is just slow on somewhat-alive steel. Just a little longer... Guren might notice he's both swatting the bees then slashing them by the sound of things. ]

When you say you're ready, we should drop to the ground.

[ Time to escape, then! Honebami drops off from the height as well, following after Guren. God knows how far of a distance they ran because they're both being anime in a forest, but honestly they're probably alright near the edge close to town. Honebami thinks so, stopping to lean on a tree. ]

We're done... Good work, Ichinose-san.

[ And then the waki finally has the bee venom get to him, without any adrenaline to hold him up. Down he goes. ]

[ Up until his blade was wiped of the bee blood and venom, he was almost motionless, save for Guren catching him. It does help, though! Honebami spaced out just a little during that end part to remember cleaning off his blade. It seemed like it would be fine to do it when they're safe afterward? He'd just have to clean it off again after dicing more dumb bugs. ]

Mm... Sorry, I hear you yelling.

[ He can get enough air in him to mumble a few words, that's probably good. He opens his eyes and glances at his sword, then the golden jar of honey on the ground, thankfully intact. He can put two and two together, but there isn't the time or mobility to express it right now. There's a nod though, and barely a bit of a smile. ]

You're probably going to carry us back... right?

[ He's small at least. Feels bad though, even if Guren seems like a really good guy. ]

That would be fine too. Swords hate being left behind, and good people hate being offered that option.

[ So, what's the point, Honebami would be lying at least a little, and Guren is somewhat shonen. Gently sassing his carrier and his own kind... But with the sluggish mobility he's regaining thanks to a cleaned up sword, he can secure it so Guren doesn't need to worry. ]

...Understood, Ichinose-san. My comrades would be happy to know you want me to talk more.

[ Being carried like a sack of potatoes is fine by him, Tsun-ren. ]
